Just keep going....
Talking about the weather- interestingly, Germany has the” Ice Saints” from May 11 to 15 th- a time where, if the nights are clear, there is a risk of frost- despite it already being already warm during the day. Its usually safe to plant afterwards. Its a regular occurrence. They are named after the Saints that have their remembrance day on these days- Mamertus, Pankratius, Servatius, Bonifatius and the Cold Sophie. Meteorology wise, it has to do with the land warming up but the ocean still being cold. Supposedly a similar phenomenon happens here on the east cost?
Another weather event is the “ sheeps cold”- a cold break at the begin of June-when the sheep usually are sheared - which would make then cold and at risk of getting sick, so people waited until the sheep's cold snap was over with shearing.
I know from experience here that we usually get a bad snowstorm around St. Paddy’s day and a January thaw with mild temperatures mid January.
