Oh Kimmio…..sounds like you need a new living situation. I know --- easier said than done. But home should be a happy and comfortable place. Yours doesn't sound that way.

My life has become so slow....so many people laid off work, so many people that I can't visit, meetings and other social events like book clubs cancelled, church services cancelled. I've been walking the dog three times each day, contacting someone different each day to visit, doing a little cleaning, reading and watching Netflix. Today my husband and I went for an old-fashioned drive (like my family used to do when I was a kid). Felt good to see something different than my neighbourhood.

Kimmio - you might find addition of a parabolic heater is effective - it heats YOU not the room - and they are pretty energy efficient, and can be silent. We have one in our basement TV room & it's great.

I just talked to Garry's 97 year old Dad ...
Me: Are you feeling a little confined?
Him: Well there are 4 walls around me.
He is taking this all in stride ...
Then at 6 a.m. he was stomping above me getting ready for work.
Garry's dad does also complain about the guy above him living on the roof - in a tent - making a lot of noise up there - a bit of dementia - but I hear you - living below 'stompers' - if one is not already suffering from dementia - could be a sure way to provoke early onset!

It's the worst when I ride home in the cold - even with boots and gloves and a took, the cold humid air goes right through everything and my hands and feet are icebergs. Hot bath helps but if my hands and feet get cold I just can't warm up. That's just how I am. I like a warm room at night...for my muscles. I rest better. Some ppl are opposite (my step brother is one of them).

I think it's warming up anyway (last week or ten days ago we had a brief temperature dip and night can get cold) ... soon I'll need a fan! Thanks, though. I've seen those little heaters around.

Day 8 of isolation. Should have bought one of those classic long Russian novels, like 'War and Peace' and 'Crime and Punishment'. In the meantime, to amuse myself, decided to set up cup-and-mug Jenga.

We have SNOW today of all things!

Will be staying in with coffee instead of heading out for a walk this morning. c[_]

Good morning. The birds are singing out there. I'll have to go up to the hospital to pick up meds. The pharmacy is just inside the doors and because it's the cancer clinic area, I understand there's extra screening. I had to go for an infusion on Saturday. They called me when I got home saying they'd forgotten to give me the bloodwork req. I'm going to ask them to bring it to the pharmacy so I can be in and out of the hospital quickly.

Something I like about the new system - doctors can stick it right on there, so no need to carry it around. Not all clinics have that capability yet. Hopefully these things will eventually be available to all in Canada - with some type of backup plan in place for glitches.

I'll ask about that. The clinic has faxed it directly to the lab too. The woman who was working at the medical day care on Saturday didn't usually work there. She didn't think it would be good to fax it a month ahead of time. The people I can talk to today will be smarter.

It also helps that I can see it on there and know it's listed. I don't have to waste a trip to the lab if it's missing. I've had many issues with faxes being lost - prescriptions to pharmacy, blood req to lab and my logs faxed from pharmacy to doctor.

I just called medical daycare. They will be bringing it to where I pick up my meds. Apparently that's also the only entrance to the hospital. That's a little odd in some ways because the cancer clinic is there and I think the renal department is there. Two areas where there are very vulnerable people. I suppose then they don't have to go further than necessary. It's the others who are entering that are a concern to me. They do have serious screening though.

Twenty-one years ago I was not "social distancing" but I was in a hospital, rooming in after Mrs. M gave birth to our little (okay, not so little now) computer engineer. So different now. We sent him greetings and a gift electronically. We'd like him to come home but he's in Ottawa which is a bit of a hotbed for COVID right now so is afraid of exposing us. May be moot now if Ford puts travel restrictions on tomorrow along with the business closures.

I hope you stay healthy.
I think I will do my bloodwork tomorrow if I go to the hospital. I'm going to call them in the morning first. If the one main concerning things is the same or lower I might not do more for a while. Will have to double check with someone on that when I have the result.
I really wonder if my phototherapy will stop at some point, if so, all treatments up to that point won't really be effective and I have to start from the beginning when it reopens. It would be less risky than a grocery store though so IDK.

I was able to get what I needed with minimal fuss today. I had to track down the requisition because the person brought it to the nurse doing the screening rather than the pharmacy. Oh well, I've got it and am home.

Oh, no, we are having snow again! Turning into heavy rain later today. I cleaned up my flower bed on Sunday and there was no sign whatsoever of any crocuses.
