Good morning from Germany! It is 2.30 am and after being awake for 34 hours I decided to go to bed at 8pm local time - I knew it was likely to not sleep through...
Oma was very exited to see the grandson and his GF and so were the cousins and aunts and uncles. Oma is doing much better but will be in rehab hospital for most of my time being here, just leaving me with looking after her for just two days before returning to Canada. So we will be visiting every day reporting on adventures in Berlin. She is easily fatigued and an hour a day visit is all she can take.
Traveling in the winter on an affordable ticket required us to run through Frankfurt Airport to catch the connecting flight. A few people were seen wearing masks, but not very many. One masked man coughing terribly was sitting four seats over from us to the right- his cough settled much more during the flight but I don’t know how I would have felt sitting seven hours right next to him. Even if it just was a regular bronchitis. I have been wiping everything in our sitting area with disinfectant wipes just to avoid cold and flus ( which, of course, the kids found rather embarrassing).
For today, we will explore some of Berlin with a cousin ( and I might just leave the kids to themselves, knowing I will badly need a nap later on).

One has to ask what's missing in the abstract ... absolute nothing? This is a great distance towards totally departing ... IT!

There are the usual shopping options for flowers or sweets. Not a tradition that has touched my family.

Oh, and its 1.30 am again and I am wide awake. I know sometimes within this week there will come the day I am sleeping 10-12 hours and jet lag will be over.
Visited mom today by myself because she called, her room is under quarantine because one new roommate is under suspicion of C- Diff. So we had the young people hold off on visiting because they really need to make it home on Friday. Hopefully, it will be called off as something else ( sounded a bit like colitis to me, from what the patient was saying, and the room did not have the typical c- diff smell. While there, the nurse took the patient in auestion off the commode- and put the commode on the diningroom table! Oh, she was told, but kept cool and just said she will wipe the table after taking it out.
, which I think she did.

One of the schools here was collecting Valentine's to send to 2 brothers. They are in England I think? Their first year there they were very disappointed at the lack of celebration, where it's for couples, the kids don't do the entire class thing that is common in elementary schools. So one of the families here arranges to send some out.

It is cold here too, Carolla. The best we could look for today is a high of -10. But tomorrow is predicted to have a high of zero.
The sun is shining; the snow is sparkling white. 20 years ago I would look to this is a great day for cross-country skiing. Today we took a drive out to our daughter's place – our house to the car, from the car to her house – my fresh air for the day.
I enjoyed following Pinga on Facebook as she shares her views on the blockades of highways and railways. I always enjoy hearing Pinga's opinions. She brings up and opened my eyes to things that I would never have thought of. I'm missing her contributions to WC 2.

I am currently relaxing at a resort in Jamaica and they went all in for Valentine's Day. Love-themed entertainment the last two nights, couples specials in the spa, seasonal decorations. It's more of a family resort than a romantic couples resort but I guess a family often involves a couple.

Yesterday, we went to the Victory statue, which you can climb up 286 steps. There was downwards traffic too and barely space to pass eachother. Beautiful view of Berlin up there, but I was reminded again that I do not like heights.
Later we saw a replica made out of chocolate at the Rausch chocolate store, together with the Brandenburg Gate, it was at least 50 cm high.

We did not buy the expensive chocolate, but went to the Ritter Sport store which had bags of reduced bars and bought a bag of 2 kg and 1 kg mix to bring back to friends and colleagues at 14.50 and 8.90 euros, one euro being about $1.50. My colleagues have a certain expectation since I stated that habit two years ago- and they truly deserve it this year.
And Don breaks up the night ... where do these shadows go during the Deis ... underground powers? At High Noon ... there is nun other that that under sole! Word is like that impossible to follow as man gods declared we should not know or grasp such intellect!
Does that define oligarchy, tyranny or slippery garchons? Boies have slipped you mind in the presents of maid well ... pits?
What's a Gar and what is a Chon ... other than something rising from the pool ... Cho' nive Anne is a concern ... reciprocal, unique horn as a funnel cloud for gathering ... boY'd there ... in sheer chaos!
Word as god of a kind that you can lose yourself in an impossible projection ... some call it an abstract stretch reaching out ...
