Up too early. Got 2 calls in a row, I guess I was too slow for the first one and I couldn't figure out if it was the new-ish area code for here, none of the numbers I have memorized use it. Followed by 888 number and ADT showed up on caller ID. I thought really, they are going to try to sell me something before 8am?
Nope, was about my sister's alarm company. Good thing I answered as I do think they send the police out if they can't get ahold of anyone. She never changed over her cellphone number with them when she got a new job. Brother in law is in school right now.
At least my morning is going better than hers, she had to turn around as she couldn't figure out what happened until she checked, she things she checked if she locked the door, didn't so the door opened, then she locked it with forgetting to redo the alarm. I guess she's working out of town as she mentioned a flight. In both the before and after calls with her I could hear my nephews in the background (driving using vehicle's speaker phones) - they are never really happy to not get a chance to talk especially when they know who it is!
Hopefully she makes her flight!

Ahhh ... home now from my fitness class :-) Second class - still feeling colossally uncoordinated but glad to be moving.

We had some rain overnight here - greatly needed. I actually have watered the past two days - as recent heat & wind has severely dried out the gardens & earth. Some leaves are blowing down in the wind. Sun is out now tho - so I think I'll get outside for a neighbourhood walk this afternoon. I have to do a 'parish portrait' at a conference in a couple of weeks - so gotta get busy wrapping my mind around what to say, and some photos to accompany that.

I seem to remember long-range forecast for a long warm fall. I don't know just what happened; we did have warm days last Saturday and Sunday, only to have it turned cold on Monday, thunderstorms on Monday night, cold and then the next two days, and below 20 today. At least the sun is shining, the sky blue, and Seelerman is hanging out first load of laundry to catch the breeze. We had not through the summer that the grass and leaves are still green(not dry and yellow-brown}, with a few started to turn scarlet.
Actually this is my favourite season; I don't mind the cool weather at all. I just don't like it to be damp.
Writer's group meets this afternoon. I don't have anything to read, but I will go and enjoyed hearing other people's contributions.
I'm actually thinking or upset or starting a series of short stories on the theme that everybody has his story. Whether young or old every person's life has something unique and interesting to tell.
Whether I get this done are not, time will tell.

Don't trust the weather ... Trump cursed it ... and nature is bigger than Trump so there will be repercussions! Grim reapings ...

Uncoordinated??????? Get things in order quickly or the order of this world will get you ...

You may find it collosolly a din ...

I'm sitting here with a warm, slightly felted old crocheted throw on my lap as I wait for the room to warm up. I'm enjoying a perfect cup of coffee and am thinking of what to eat. It might be an oatmeal kind of morning. I'll put the pot on and will make enough to share. I have some Summerland Sweets fruit syrup here which works very well to make oatmeal taste even better. Of course there are other things here to add to oatmeal - fresh fruit, dried fruit, cream, sugar, maple syrup. Help yourself.

Thanks Northwind! I've just come home from the Climate Action Strike outside my city hall. Not a huge turnout - maybe 150? I'm not good at estimating those kinds of numbers, but that would be my guess. All ages; some good signs; some chanting; some speeches by the climate folks - but then by the politicians. All our local liberals were there - got heckled a bit about the pipeline. NDP & Greens. Didn't see any sign of the conservative candidates. At one point it started to get nasty & I was hot, so I headed off to take the bus back home. My first local transit ride in quite a while - bonus - I discovered that senior's cash fare is only $1 for rides between 8:30-3:30 on weekdays!! I also met some interesting folks at the event - brought home some e-mails, and learned my city (apparently the 6th largest in Canada) has a draft climate action plan. Now I'll have to look that up & get to some meetings about that. Our WC friend Birthstone was downtown Toronto - a much larger event.
