Warm and sunny here. We are supposed to be leaving for a couple of days camping at 10am. It is approaching 11am and hubby is downtown getting his meds that he said he was getting on Friday. It looks like he hasn't packed anything in the way of clothes yet either. I think I've organised all my usual stuff - cooking/eating essentials and clothes and meds and the camera gear.

I get to relax and play on the puter while I wait.

I can relate to this somewhat Kay! In our household, my partner is the early riser & is often ready to shoot out the door before I've hardly had time to brush my teeth.

I have often wondered why we often finish up with a partner who is 'opposite'. I know couples who have one early riser and one that isn't really functioning before noon. For years I fumed about hubby's disorganised ways but eventually decided to organise myself and have plans for the waiting time. He is putting items into the car and camper now (two hours late) but still needs clothing.
:D

Good morning. Well I guess it is afternoon for most people here. I had a good sleep in, and am drinking a good cup of coffee in my favourite mug.

We had neighbors here in the park who who had several big dogs that sounded aggressive. Thankfully they've left. It's one thing to have a barking dog or two in a campground. It's quite another to have dogs that tend towards being aggressive. There were about three big German shepherds. I was concerned about the kids and small dogs going past their site. It's nice to have quiet here again.

Today will probably be a quiet one. We are moving sites at the end of the week, then we're leaving the park on Monday. There's some things I need to do here to prepare. Bit by bit.

Seeler enters the room with an arm full of kindling and kneels down to start a fire. Brrr! It's cold outside.
Yesterday was beautiful – sunny and around 20° in the afternoon, shirtsleeve whether for a walk, and then alike just for setting on the deck. Today the low is around zero and the high predict it for 6°; 100% chance of rain or snow. SNOW in the middle of May?

During the 9 years we spent in Manitoba, about half of my wife's birthdays (mid-May) were snowy type days.
But such a day and such a nice fire in the hearth call for warm beverages. and.... TA DA!! Help yourself. Even found some hot chocolate packs.

Be prepared for change ... some deny the environment does or will ... cosmological doings as it appears much against the global perspective as more and more become stoned ... a stunned consequence ... vegetable juice can do it as powerful thinkers ... ju'de like Einstein, Freud, etc. folks generally not familiar to the general populace as a core poor realism to avoid altruists! Leadership as heavy toxification ... as Lord Acton Stated .. we're thus doomed ...

Good morning. What a lovely fire and group of people. We're getting much needed rain here. There's already talk of fire bans. Some steady rain between now and the weekend will be good.

Lucky you with the rain. There are a few fires here-one south of us-water bombers loading here yesterday. I pray that the rain moves East.
Meanwhile I am sipping my London Fog and getting ready for work.

I'm all for that Bette! Last night on the news they were saying that there's been ONE day in May that has been at or above normal temperature!! 1/13 - not a very good record!! So I appreciate the warm beverages!

Today I went over to a local elementary school to meet two staff & the new garden club - I will be helping them as a volunteer from my garden club. Had so much fun. Tomorrow we will get outside & start digging & weeding the large space they want to plant. Neither of the staff have any gardening experience - but they make up for that in enthusiasm. We'll be planting mostly food :-) I don't have much experience with that, as my yard is so shady - so I'll be learning lots too!

Tip: big part of successful food gardening is proper spacing. Besides the fact that many veg get MUCH bigger than the little cells they come in, room is needed to get access for weeding.

If things are fairly close together, there tends to be less weeds. I don't find I need to leave space in order to weed.

I am getting ready to go to the Maritime Meeting of the Atlantic Quakers over the long weekend. Everyone is to bring a dish, so I cooked 4 l of Lemon Lentil Soup. I am also the one to do the shopping for the other food items at Costco on my way there and have been preparing a “ creative fun program” all around the theme of “nature”. Our motto is
“ that of God in everyone and everything- a call to Quakers for environmental action”. About 55 participants including several interesting speakers. As work has been busy, I am really looking forward to take off on Friday morning and not return to work until Wednesday.
Here is some Lemon Lentil soup for the room, its a bit spicy ( crushed chilli in it),top it with some feta and parsley if you like.

@Mrs.Anteater - that sounds like a terrific get-away - I hope you have decent weather, but no matter, you will have good fellowship and fun times together. A younger friend of mine is Quaker & she goes with her husband and 2 kids every summer to Quaker Camp for a week - the pictures are always so amazing.
