Another bad news day in the Mendalla household. 5 months after her father's death, Mrs. M's mother passed away last night our time. She was diagnosed with a very aggressive abdominal cancer a few weeks ago but they originally thought she would last longer. Mrs. M leaves for China on Saturday. Thank God for multiyear, multiple entry visas. That means Little M has lost all his grandparents in under four years (the 4th anniversary of Dad's death is next month).

Sad news Mendalla - and such a long way to travel, must be even more exhausting in a bereaved state. Condolences to you and yours.

I wonder if her broken heart made her cancer grow quicker. I am so Mendalla for mrs. M losing both parents so close together.

Some people state determinately that life isn't rough .. but it does have certain hard parts ... for peculiar reason yet unknown ...

May we keep these lost one's in heart and mind ... impossible domains of emotion and intellectual concerns ... meer essences!

Gentle, understanding hugs heading towards your whole family Mendalla. Losing loved ones is never easy and when the deaths are close together it becomes even more challenging.

Hugs, Mendalla, as you deal with family grief in such rapid succession. It's also a painful reminder that you are the 'oldest' generation, suddenly, often disconcerting.

*Bette sweeps out the grates, wipes down some coffee tables, makes sure that all virtual tea and coffee pots, and wine bottles, are refreshed and ready, blankets and pillows and snacks and kleenex all handy*

Mendalla So sorry to hear this.....it must be especially hard to be apart from each other at such a time and hopefully your wife will have some family to lean on when she arrives for the funeral. Hugs.

Sorry for your loss, Mendalla. May you and your family be comforted.
