@Stardust after reading the pastoral care threads, I have been wondering about Stardust. Has anybody heard from her?

I'm keeping busy - and was away at a church retreat over the weekend. Wish I had time to share my experiences.

But I'm popping into the Room every now and then. Tabitha I feel your heart breaking with worry for your child. My prayers are with you.
And with others who are coping with illness, death, elderly parents, and other worries. Sometimes life just seems to pile up around us.

It's pretty quiet today. Maybe I'll think of some Christmas threads, I'm looking forward to the Jesse tree one.
Physically I'm feeling better than a little while ago. I don't know if I got the right diagnosis for my face, but the medication is working. It just seems for a long time for that redness on me to fade, but at least it isn't painful. I think it was contributing to the lymph node swelling, as the painful spots and swelling seemed to go away together.

I wish I had more energy right now, I'm feeling pretty lazy, but at least I'm able to do some things without it causing serious problems. Luckily I also have enough things going on now to convince me to get out of the house for the next while, so I won't just stay inside all day for the entire week even if it's slightly tempting :) Getting out really does improve my mood, it's just getting over that hurdle of actually stepping out the door. If it's a random errand, it's easy to put off, if it's a plan I'll follow through unless I'm really not up to it. Once out I usually end up motivated to do some other things as well.

I'm having a no good, very bad day. Ugh. Found a miss in a licensing item which significantly impacts costs projeced for a project. I am talking seriously even my my standards now rethinking the whole approach to the work. just not fun.
Then, talked to Dad and I have been negligent in my visiting of him, but, of course, there are other items going on. Funny things that make me go..hmmm...
and....my beverage evening with friends was cancelled due to snowstorm warning, and honestly, well i finally left work at 8pm the roads were fine.

So, i am going to sit down, and open a virtual bottle of wine, and ask each of you o feel free to help yourselves. It is a lovely bottle (of whatever your choice is)

Thanks pinga - I'll sit here and join you for a while. Sorry to hear about work troubles, then Dad piling on. I had one of those days on Monday ... but it's past now - sighing pleasantly on my wine, enjoying the fire in the wonderhearth, company of a friend. Do we have enough here for a game of euchre tonight? I need some practice before my 'club' gets together tomorrow night!

Did either of you watch the Presidents speech about illegal aliens and the border. He certainly riled the Conservatives.

No didn't see that - was it today? I was just knitting & watching an episode of Grays Anatomy tonight ... a bit of welcome mindlessness :-)

Did I tell you that my Dad (now 88) is getting a dog? It's a rescue dog - boston terrier. He's SO excited! He's been very lonely living alone & not going out much these days due to arthritis, so he decided to look into this. The dog is 6 years old, well trained, and arriving from Edmonton on Monday - he can hardly wait! It so nice to see him looking forward to something for a change. There was such a big process to go through for him to get approval - I must say I was quite surprised by the scrutiny.

okay pinga - first black jack deals! And if you order your partner up you DO have to go alone!!

Well, we do need two more I guess ... you don't want to run around the table & play multiple hands? Just kidding. I'm actually off to crawl into bed shortly - I'm reading the second Patrick Rothfuss novel ... have been REALLY enjoying his work. I'm such a slow reader tho ...

I like Auri ... so will look forward to that one too! Makes me laugh to hear you say you read it on Friday night ... probably a month for me!LOL
That's one thing about reading on the kindle, I'm never quite sure how big of a book I've really selected!! I know its possible to check pages etc. but not the same as holding it in my hand.
