Last night I bought my 22 his birthday present. A suit for his cousins wedding. Very up to date with skinny legs! Great day to be downtown with a festival on, I was offered wine at another store I wondered into (in a to go cup) and live band. Today we picked up suit and then when elsewhere and got shirt and tie. Wedding here we come. (I picked up a dress in India-and matching shoes in Edmonton-hoe can you resist turquoise and maroon shoes?) Pictures next month.
You are going to look amazing at the wedding!

Tea stock up day. David's has likely lost my business for a while. I got 400g of tea at my local place (Tea Haus, theteahaus.com) for $36.00 pre-tax. When I ran a similar list of teas at David's (but not the same, I'll get to that in a minute), it was over $50. And the selection at David's doesn't hold a candle to Tea Haus. There's flavours of tea I adore (like peach) that I can't really get at David's (they have an herbal peach but not a peach-flavoured black). So, lower prices and more selection. Yes, going downtown is a bit more inconvenient than a dash over to the mall up the street, but it's not like I go tea shopping weekly or anything. A good haul like this will do me for months. I have 3 100g bags for home and 2 50g bags for my credenza at work (though I may mix and match a bit).

The haul:

Sunday Tea (black tea with bourbon vanilla)
Sweet Peach (the aforementioned peach black tea)
Earl Grey Supreme (best Earl ever)
Raspberry (new flavour for me but should be good, I love berry-flavoured teas)
Lemon Grove (also new for me. This will, I hope, be my replacement for David's La La Lemon)

* Puts out a selection of loose leaf teas and gets the kettle going *

Soccer crazy at the corner take out place. Went to a park while the game was on and there were very few people there, everyone has left to watch the game.

* raspberry tea is a diuretic. So just drink lots of water as well Mendalla.
I think that's just the raspberry leaf tea. One of the ones more on the medicinal/herbal side rather than a fruity one. It's possible a raspberry tea contains more than just the fruit though.

Are you talking raspberry herbal or raspberry flavoured black? I'm talking the latter. And caffeine is a diuretic in any case, though not sure if black tea is in the same league as what you are talking about.

Pretty different. Raspberry (or blackberry) leaf is an ancient remedy for supporting the female hormone system. Raspberries are nice fruit that add a nice flavour to stuff.

Ah yes, Inanna picked raspberries in the 90 degree weather right after the thunderstorm. And shared them with me!

I don't think mine are out yet. Our season is later than yours, I guess. We don't get many anyhow and I'm thinking of digging out the patch and putting something else there.

Stayed out by the airport due to hotel prices downtown. May rethink that

Not sure where you're hanging these days, but that's been my experience in a lot of cities. Even Ottawa, we usually end up in Gatineau or out near the airport even though it means a bit of a drive to Little M's area (U of O is downtown and downtown Ottawa tends to be pricey, esp. in season). AirBnB might change up that equation. Our place in April was walking distance to Chinatown and was cheaper than the suburban hotel it replaced.

taking a sick day. I have been telling myself and others "It's just allergies" but I think it is more. Sore throat, unable to talk and runny nose and coughing up gunk. I wonder if it is strep. So symptoms actually started fri. I'll pop into walk in.

Get better soon Tabitha. I remember those days about really over-thinking whether or not I should take a sick day. Now that I'm retired...I still overthink it, because there is so much to do in life! I don't want to be down for the count.

Take care of yourself, @Tabitha . I find sometimes a summer bug is worse than a winter one, maybe because we don't expect to be sick in the summer.

My surgeon had a cancellation so my surgery moved up. Cyst goes bye-bye this Friday. It's minor stuff. Just a local and then some stitches. Been there, done that.

Ugh, lymph node swelling pretty extreme today. I wish they could figure this out. I never used to get swollen lymph nodes like this when sick, it really only started up when the HAE was out of control. The 2 some to be related although treating an attack doesn't take the lymph node swelling down. I'm also mostly over the cold now, so it shouldn't be swelling like this now.
