Oh, I just looked at a calendar for an event. I have a whole extra week! Dates got so messed up in my head with being away, especially as it fell with a date change and I wasn't sure when/how I was getting back before I left.

I also spent all of Friday and Saturday thinking today was Father's Day. Then I forgot all about it today, no calls made. Chemguy thought I was right on it being this weekend too and didn't think to call either. Haha great team we are. Yay for an extra week!

Any suggestions for a 1st birthday present? It's hard as they have so many toys. Experience gifts at that age are also hard because of nap times.
I had to double check yesterday morning, too. It’s next week.

I hope you feel better soon!

Congratulations on acquiring a pair of plain black pants!

Germany was extremely hot on Friday and Saturday 34 degrees. We drove to a craft festival in the countryside on Saturday, where it was a bit cooler than in the city. Sunday was my birthday with my siblings and mother- the first time in20 years. My sister gave me an invitation to an outdoors concert of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.
I went shoping today to find sandals- it was so cold in NS, I forgot to pack mine!

Happy belated birthday! Sounds like fun.

How cool that @Seeler is housesitting for you!

What a delightful gift! I'm a bit green with envy. I spent a lot of my childhood quite infatuated with von Karajan and it remains one of my all-time favourite orchestras. Always a very big, clear sound.

And Happy Birthday! How nice to be reunited with your birth family on your birthday after so long! One of the pains of immigration. *Bette sets out a special wondercake and gets the tea and coffee refreshed* In contrast to our last wondercake - which was light and fruity, we'll make my family's favourite birthday cake - a rather heavier banana and pineapple based cake laden with craisins, toasted walnuts and iced with a cream cheese icing. In true Wondercake form, however, it has no calories, no allergens, and not a spec of gluten!

Ooh delightful, Wondercake! Don't mind if I do. Don't mind if I do. :)

Wondercake was delicious. I am bringing a box of Lindt chocolates I got for my birthday, to share.

And in my world, I finally have a date when the cyst on my back and I shall part company. Unfortunately, it's more than a month away.:( But the surgeon, a Burmese immigrant who excels at this stuff, might be scheduling an extra surgery day and has given me priority if he does.

I am just back from a real life potluck and year end meeting of the quilt guild. I had planned to spend time and energy and make a fancy dessert. Changed my mind and instead made an old stand by for potlucks (and camping) tabouli salad. It was very well received and I even got asked twice for the recioe. So here's the recipe: Buy a box of Tabouli mix, add hot water and olive oil according to box directions. Chop up and add a tomato or 2 . Let sit 20 minutes. When camping I use sun dried tomatoes-in a foil pouch with oil. It was the right energy expenditure for me and enjoyed as part of the meal.

So as well as a small amount in the fridge at home for my youngest tomorrow, I mixed up another bowl for this room.

Ugh this cold is a rough one. Spent most of the day in bed, after sleeping on the couch all last night. Unfortunately Chemguy has to do a fair bit of travelling - although similar to what he had years ago.
He's still recovering so I didn't want my coughing and tossing and turning to affect his sleep more than his cold already is when he had to be on the road fairly early. I was happy to move into the bed at about 5am. Normally I don't mind the couch but the achiness is hitting pretty hard with this virus too.

it is interesting living in someone elses house, using her stuff, figuring out where things are and worKing out outines.

Looking after the.cat is easy. She is such a delightful pet. I think she misses mrsanteater but she likes us, welcomees us back if we are outfor a few hours, and sleeps with us
Mrsanteater. Leaft lots of helpful info.
This morning wee worked on tryiing to understand the garbage /recycle program. In fredericton we have A bluee box for cans and aplastic containers and a grey box for paper, and a big green bin for everything else (garbage)'. Here it has to be sorted more carefully. The big difference is the green bin is just for compost. So we check the lists to see what can go into what bin or. Bag. I think we wil geet it Right.

Yesterday we drove up to Greenwood AirforCe base and toured the musium.

I knew you could do it! Recycling is a challenge. Here in Berlin, they do all the sorting, but then, 80% of it still gets burned with the rest of the trash. In the Annapolis Valley, supposedly they have the reputation to be on the top of the recycle kings.

I am aware that I am both frustrated and feeling challenged tonight due to work.
I am thankful for my team who pulled out all stops are exhausted, and yet, keep going despite challenges they face.
I am having fun with doing some new stuff, which our team hasn't done before. I am aware of the challenges of of our roll, especially when people don't get it. Hard to be the person pushing people without getting into the swamp sometimes.

I am also thankful for the board who punched through some challenges this week.

Sounds like some tough slogging pinga - I'm impressed by your ability to continue to encourage others, knowing you will all find a way together, and your ability to pause to reflect on gratitudes after long hard work days. Great attributes of a leader IMO.
