Happy Mother’s Day to my kids grandmas (Patti too!) thanks for being such great grandparents for my little gals! Here’s what I made to represent the 4 generations!

That's an awesome photo!

I've seen that going around LOTS today. One of those things is not like the others. I'll take it upon myself to speak for all of us where it's a choice - it's a choice! We're fine :) No need for any special thoughts for us today. I'll send out some thoughts to all the moms who don't get to sleep in as often as I do though!

First saw this on Facebook and feel that it's beautiful. I'm happy and thankful to share that my church celebrates Women's Day rather than Mother's Day.

Can we change that one to "Those who are trying to come to terms with the fact that they will never be mothers."?
Yes, that's a good point. Even with it being a choice, sometimes there are negative emotions related to that choice. I think that's a better sentiment than what's in there.

I am always aware of the dangers of special days when I am a guest worship leader. I want to be kind and inclusive...So, I said "Happy Mother's Day to everyone who is and everyone who has a mother!" The message was about being chosen for something...or not....and the individual choosing we all have to do in life. It fit in with the churches' need to choose a new minister, and the whole interview process they are undergoing. I would like to say it went over well, but I didn't get a lot of feedback at all. Except from my Mom who attends one of the churches...She liked it! (Whew). Oops...this started as a mother's day comment and turned into a How was church today? comment.

feeling tired today. A close friend had a seizure yesterday-a big one-fall down on the floor grand mal type. Not her first, she is scheduled to have surgery in the next month or so to remove the brain growth.
Our neighbour almost died of a heart attack and is recovering in the hospital. I am feeling quite empty at the moment.

Oh Tabitha - sorry to hear about all that going on for you. Sending some hugs and chicken soup.

Sorry to hear about your friend's grand mal @Tabitha. I know how brutal those can be. After I have one I have a splitting headache and the feeling of absolutely no energy. Hope her surgery goes well.

Your seizures are quite different I would imagine Jae. You do not have a mass growing on your brain and surgery upcoming that will be performed awake. That is so the dr. stops if you lose the ability to speak.

That type of surgery is so scary Tabitha. I wish your friend a successful procedure. My son had 'awake and keep talking' surgery to fix a brain problem. He remembers very little of that trip to Toronto but he laughs as he recalls the questions posed and his own 'smart a$$ ' joking around. It was in ICU after that procedure that we were spoken to by the first and only Chaplain during our years of medical procedures and recovery. He was a really warm and friendly Rabbi.
