we too are having lamb. From Costco. In AB I'd buy a lamb a year from a farmer. I'm on the wait list here for a whole one next year.

Sounds good except for the tofu. I am told it is an acquired taste.

Bon appetit!

Depends how it is prepared. We are having Ma Po Tofu tonight. Spicy stew of tofu and ground pork. From a vegan standpoint, I used to just mix tofu with spicy preserved radish (sold in cans in Chinese groceries) and sesame oil. That's more of a snack or side than a meal though.

When looking to purchase lamb - if there is a halal butcher anywhere near you they often do have a great selection of lamb. My friend makes hers in a crockpot - and from experience she has learned to have her husband take the pot with him to the butcher & have it cut to size - reminding the butcher that the lid needs to fit on tightly.

We just got a "Farm Boy" store in our general area - so we ventured there yesterday & got some great food for dinner! I've some of you here speak highly of this store, so I was exciting to see one around here now. I will go back when it's not such a hectic shopping day to better appreciate its bounty.

Went for a nice walk this afternoon - sunny but still pretty windy and cold - definitely still winter clothing weather! So I'm glad to cozy up by the fire here, cup of tea in hand, for a chat with friends this day.

Flight to Calgary for August booked. Almost $1000, but it will be worth it. It is a get-together with two friends from my university days. We did this two years ago at Stratford. One lives in Calgary, one in Halifax, and me in Ontario, the middle. These are two very special people and I count myself lucky that our paths crossed so long ago, and the connection was wonderful enough to keep up. A different university friend who is now the multi-millionaire never liked these two because they were a little left of center in their political and social views. Well, now I stay in touch with them, and not the multi-millionaire. But I'm not giving up on the multi-millionaire yet. We too had a special and deep friendship.

I took a Greyhound bus to Calgary in my early 20's. My friend and I stayed at the YWCA. And we wandered around the city on our own, using public transit. It was great fun.

Nancy, sorry that we didn't see you when in Stratford. How nice that you are getting together with friends from long ago. Great to have people who know you.

Nancy, you'll be able to check out the 'famous' Hillhurst United Church, maybe? I really enjoyed the service I attended there, and @YouJustNeverKnow was a wonderful coffee and church companion...

It snowed last night!!!!!
A few days ago I put away my winter boots, and moved my winter coat and jacket to the back of the closet. After all it's spring, Easter, April - time for something lighter. I haate clumping around in boots in public buildings, and dealing with a bulky coaat in shopping malls and theatres. So I looked forward to a few weeeks of light jackets and shoes before the hot muggy weather of summer.
And then it snowed - at least 1/2 inch of wet snow on the deck andd lawn - it's melting as it falls on the street and driveway. Prediction: rain all day. Temps from 0 to 3 degrees.
Sounds like a miserable day. And it's a day that I have to go out.

Done my rant.
Good morning everyone. I have coffee on and I'm about to make toast. Should I put a slice in for you?

Seeler---It has never stopped snowing here! They are reopening the ski hill this week because the conditions are just too good to pass up. BetteTheRed, I would love to go to Hillhurst, but I won't be in Calgary over a weekend. I am worship-leading on the two Sundays on either side of my 5 day holiday. If I could have gone later in August, I could have stayed over a weekend, but I will be on call to babysit if my daughter goes back to work then. And my two university friends are quite busy as well, so we had to really work to get some dates that coordinated.

Too bad, Nancy! But you'll have a lovely visit with your friends!

Snowed last night here, as well but it's hovering around zero and they were threatening freezing rain. Didn't get in my usual meditation this morning while I had an anxious consult with the bible study lady as to whether we were on or off for this morning. So a slice of toast will be nice. I'm in marmalade mode at the moment...

Lots of folks on my feeds complaining about snow this morning. (My sister has more snow in her backyard than she has had all year, and it is still slowing there -- major snowstorm ) She is not amused.

We have had rain.

I had one of those nights where you cannot find your phone. I eventually found it, close to where it should have been. Hadn't turned sound back on from Easter. d'oh

We've still got a few feet of snow on the ground. We had some warmer weather may be a month ago it melted the snow enough so that the for sale sign that was completely buried on a neighbourhood house emerged. It is still frozen in the ground though. We have had no viable break in winter that would suggest we'll see spring. This has been six month of winter. So far. :(

It is FIERCELY windy here today - no snow tho thankfully. Reminding me of some days & nights in Newfoundland!!

I drove through almost white-out conditions from cambridge to brantford. Not snowing in Paris (well, Five Oaks).
Was blustery & snowy in Cambridge, but, very fine, and not accumulating.

ouch, what a wind though.
wanted to blow me off the highway
