This talk of books are me decide to see what audio books might be at our library. Unfortunately I was unable to log in. I suspect I have to renew my card or something. Alas.

I loved The 100 Year Old Man.
I like audio books for driving trips. I'll have several early morning drives for medical appointments in April, so I'm checking out my audio options. First up, my sister has recommended The Phantom Tollbooth.

I have since been able to reactivate my library card and have downloaded a book. I downloaded "The Other Einstein" (or similar title.

Only like them in the passenger seat. They tend to put me to sleep! Even if interested. So many podcasts that I have listened to multiple times to get all the way through haha.

Really discovered podcasts and audio books in my trip across Canada. Want a wonderful listen? American Gods, or The Graveyard Book, by Neil Gaiman. Also, son had a a pile of podcasts looking at old fairy tales/myths that was quite fascinating. Very dark.

I listened to some of the audio of Gaiman's Norse Mythology. Very good.

I have listened to a few episodes of Lore. Very much in the vein of what you describe for your son but more modern, mostly Americana.

Methuselah? Isn't that myth too ... much to take?

Literature stuff tends to do that to people that can't stand ancient rites of tales ...

Since not everyone will have been eagerly following the exchange between GeoFee and revJohn on the Plato's cave question, especially as it's moved to view points of Impressionism and Post-impressionism, Geo has just asked for prayers and healing thoughts for Barbara, who has suffered the symptoms of a stroke and is in the hospital.

Oh no. They just moved, too, didn't they? I'm sure I saw him say something to that effect. Good vibes to Barbara and to George as well. Hope she is able to pull through this.

Thank you each and all for your supportive presence. Barbara has suffered a mild stroke. Care by all parties has been excellent. She is home with all seeming well. She is not to be left alone for a week. Glad we caught this early and the outlook seems favourable. Again, thank you for the kind and supportive words. One of the best parts of this strange and wonderful Cafe.

Glad to hear that Barbara is home again, and outlook is favourable. Frightening times when such things occur. Sending positive energy and prayers for continued recovery and strength for the journey for all of you.
