I'm semi-stuck at home until later this afternoon. Chemguy had to go out of town for work and his truck wouldn't start, so he took my car. I was considering getting out for a bit today to pick up a few things and attend a health session on the other side of the city before I need to go the hospital for a med & supply pickup. It will be a big one this time, so hopefully now Chemguy can help, originally he told me no, but with taking my car work might be a bit more flexible.

chemgal. You may want to consider an account with a local taxi company-I used to use Checkers. My cousin did this and it meant if car was nt available, she-and her children-were not stuck at home.
In your case it might give you security if you have an attack-it is cheaper than ambulance -if you are not that far along.

If I started to have an attack today, I would call for a cab! I'm feeling pretty good, so I'm not concerned about that right now. Just a bit annoyed, my energy level was really low yesterday, so I figured I would do things like buy sports drinks and gingerale (drink of choice for infusions) from Walmart today. I have taken one home from the hospital after having Chemguy take me and then telling him to go home to sleep.

What does the account do? Just cut down on the time to pay, or do you actually tend to get a cab faster?

Happy October 1st Everyone!

In my neck of the woods the first day of October came in with a lot of rain . . . and it is continuing. It is dull and grey and wet. But it is not super cold and there isn't much of a wind, so that makes things a little better.

As I think ahead to this brand new month I see that my calendar in October is already being filled in with commitments at an alarming pace. Church tea, church fall supper, church garage sale, meetings, study group, medical trip, family trip, Thanksgiving family supper, coffeehouse, friends gathering and outing, birthdays to celebrate, Election Day (city), eye appointment, and a few other outings. Add on top of that the beginning of fall cleaning.

I'm sure many of you here at the cafe are finding that your days in October are being booked also.

In my busy-ness (and I know I am not near as busy as many others I know) I am going to try once again to practice living in the moment.

How is everyone today?

I've enjoying the weather here. Since I wasn't feeling energetic yesterday and Chemguy has been working out of town lots I skipped Tai Chi and we went out for dinner yesterday. It's a nice Italian restaurant and I'm almost underdressed whenever we go, but it's always dead on a weeknight. We go for the food and the quiet atmosphere and the staff always just seem happy to have customers so who cares if I'm wearing yoga pants.

I hadn't been outside until we went out, I commented that it was really nice out - feels like fall. I love that crisp feeling in the air, I really should get out more. Hopefully this weather will stick around for a while!

Poor Chemguy is busy. He's wanted in multiple locations, ditto for his boss. Some people want both of them together, but right now unless it's really important they are splitting the locations up between the two of them. Chemguy booked some time off over Thanksgiving. He will have the long weekend for sure, but I think he will be working some of the days he booked off.

Beloved, life is busy.
We have a wedding of one of my nephews, a fishing trip for :e guys, a wedding shower, a stag and doe for another nephew ( same family)

I am also going to Boston for a conference and tacked on vacation. My sister-in-law is joining me for the vacation. Looking forward to it.

Tonight, I am taking my lads out to dinner. Husband is busy all week.

Plus another trip will likely be fit into milwaukee as trying to hire 5 people and train them

Well, confession time. My life sucks. I completely f'd up a rebuild of a computer (ours, not at work) and lost a bunch of files due to mismanaging backups. Mercifully, a lot of the important stuff (ie. our digital photos) have multiple backups. It's just that the old backups are spread across CD-R and CD-RW disks so there's a lot of them (CDs only held c. 700MB vs. our several GB of pictures and videos). Fun, wow.

I WAS feeling good today. Chemguy and I got the 5 big bags of medical supplies. I returned some books to the library. On the way home we stopped at a grocery story and that was it, I crashed and felt totally out of it. I was hoping I would feel better after eating (roast chicken from the store along with some sides) so I could try out a different Tai Chi class so I'm not behind with what was taught yesterday. Nope!

I'm going to nap!

Chemgal,
An account means that you don't have to pay at the time. Either you put an amount in and use it until gone or you are billed.
It just made it one less thing to worry about ie if you aren't feeling well-not having to dig for wallet at the end of your trip.

Awww Mendalla, that does suck. I lost quite a few pics when my hard drive crashed a few years ago. I try to keep them back-upped on another medium now. I guess I should be do that again soon as I haven't done it for awhile.

I've never heard it referred to as a "stag and doe", Pinga . . . I've heard a "Jack and Jill" though.

Thanks Tabitha. That sounds like a good idea.

Sad story in yesterday's newspaper. A man in our community recently lost his son, a little boy of about ten. He had pictures of the child on his cell phone, but didn't have a computer so he had never downloaded them. And a few days ago he lost his cell phone. I don't know him but I find his story so sad. I'm hoping some kind person finds the phone (he gave a detailed outline of where he had been the day it disappeared and has been retracing his route on foot looking in the gutters and asking people) and returns it to him.

Hope he finds it too, seeler . . . there are many caring, thoughful people in this world - hopefully someone finds it who will have the desire to return it to the rightful owner.

Started my "fall" cleaning today :)!

Oh, beloved, your cleaning makes me quite discouraged sometimes... I'm not sure I have ever done an intentional fall or a spring clean in my life. ALL of my cleaning, ever, I think, has been done under the pressure of "Oh, dear, there's company coming and will you look at this place!"... (In my defense, I have been a single working parent/caregiver much of my life.) I was laughing with some church chums the other night about the first time a minister, now retired, came on short notice to pay a pastoral visit; in the ensuing panic, dirty dishes were hidden in the oven...

Sad story about the lost pictures of the lost boy. It's a bit frightening what reliance we place on technology to store our memories.
