I don't actually have pernicious anemia, I'm just not absorbing the B12 well enough, although my body is still capable of it. My values have been a bit all over the place from when I first started taking supplements. Annoyed with some of my previous doctors as this has been checked numerous times and I found out it was gradually dropping, but I was just always told it was within a 'good' range by my other GPs until it got below normal now with this one.crazy dad, crazyson and both crazy daughters get vitamin B12 shots. it is hereditary in a family,

Mrs.anteater - there are advantages to travelling alone; for an independent person like yourself they may out way having companions. Planning and changing your mind are much easier when you don't have to consider someone else's schedule. For instance, if I'd been by myself on my recent trip to NS I'm quite sure that I wouldn't have spent time at MicMac Mall, but would have managed a visit with you, and a cup of tea with a friend near Peggy's Cove.
And travelling together with family and friends can result in too much togetherness. Five days in a car, four nights sharing a motel room, with Seelergirl and Grandson was enough for us. I'm quite sure that could have gotten along, even for a longer period, with any one of them but to hear a 80+ year-old arguing with a 13 year-old over what program to watch on a motel TV had me concentrating on my Seduka book, and Seelergirl's nose in her novel. Not complaining - we had a great time, but too much of a good thing isn't good.
Carolla,I did bring a journal (the last time I wrote in it was December 2016) - but you are right about the memory part-I better use itGood for you Mrs. Anteater! I've also done some solo travelling - I enjoyed all the things Bette mentioned. Kept a diary on the road usually, since there was nobody accompanying me to physically share my thoughts and observations with. But then again, I also usually keep a diary when I'm travelling with others too, come to think of it! Helps me remember stuff years laterAnd I tell my kids they'll be able to read them to me when I'm aged & in a nursing home!

My best friend said once, three days is the maximum you can do with family after that it turns sour. At least, in closed quarters, I believe that might be true.
My Nana used to say, "After three days, fish and guests go off".
(I think I got more than a quarter of her genes!)
