Nancy, i get that It is about learning how to live or work with folks who don't do things in the way one would expect. Learning and growng, not necessarily in the way you predicted, but, it is all good , you will be better prepared for the next bad situation.

Mendalla sorry about your health concerns / worries

Nice to see you again, Nancy :). Oh no! - for the little guy - must be hard. How long will the cast be on for.

Also hope it is not cancer for your sis - hopefully whatever health issues she is having, they will take care of themselves in time.

Sorry you are having such a rough go with the Principal - talking about the issue do any good?

Is the "thing" on your back being biopsied to make sure, Mendalla? Hope you get answers to your skin issue soon.

@Mendalla after having the diagnosis, I had some psoriasis spring up in front of my ears. I wasn't sure if it was eczema or psoriasis as I have both and it looked a bit different compared to what I usually get. I went to a GP as I was concerned about using steroid creams by my face. He just told me to try out the med for each, and based on which one helped, I would know which it was. lol I could have done that without the wait! Hopefully your dermatologist can find a good treatment for you.

Good news Mendalla. As someone who has heard the words "It's serious. It's melanoma" I'm glad it isn't -and for the record-after the removal of mole on back- and tests of lymph nodes-all is well-no further treatment-and it was 7 years ago.

Nancy-that sounds tough at school. Is there a buddy or 2 on your side in the teaching staff?

and I'm EXTREMLY busy as work-as everyone seems determined to make up for the lost days.

Mendalla & others who suffer with skin ailments: from personal experience, my DCM (Doctor of Chinese Medicine) and my immunologist seem to keep skin conditions at bay better than whatever surface treatment my dermatologist is flogging from one year to the next.

I've been in "I wanna be retired" mode for months; having a hard time staying motivated and engaged at work. It's depleting my energy supply for a host of things I'd rather be doing - church, art, garden, etc.

Just found out that my Grampa is having surgery on Stage 4 Colorectal cancer on the 30th. He is several provinces away, so there isn't even time to send a card. Please remember my family on Tuesday.

Hilary...Hope your Grandpa comes out of the surgery with flying colours. My aunt has stage 4 lung cancer. We used to tremble at that 'stage 4' thing, but she's doing well...knows she'll never be cured, but she is feeling well, and her chemo and radiation are doing what they are supposed to do: put the cancer to sleep (that's how the doctor explained it!)
Thanks for the pep talks everyone. I tried to downplay my work problem, but most of you saw right through that! It reached an ugly head last year, and I'm determined to not let it get like that this year, despite her shenanigans. I have a hard time with deceit, but I'll have to get over that. She has a real fan club at our school...people who think she is SO wonderful, and they are in her circle of favourites. I'm not. So, I just keep my head down and do my job. I love my kids, I love teaching, and I do an okay job. That's where I have to focus.

Yes, I seem to have quite a number of friends whose cancer is "put to sleep" at present. You can have some just fine quality of life as long as you can just co-exist with the fear (and have some good support systems in place). Prayers and hugs for your grandpa, Hilary.

I am sitting at a coffee chain, enjoying the beauty of the day and awaiting a delicious salad arriving.

The room is busy, full of new and old, sad, happy and concerning news. The general Highs and lows of life which are shared with friends

May today be a good day for you.

Southern Ontario is looking gorgeous weather-wise. Gorgeous as in I wish we had more weather like this. Sunny, low-mid twenties, cools off nicely at night. More late summer than autumn, to be honest.

And what am I doing this weekend? Rebuilding a flipping computero_O. My wife's desktop is a mess and I've run out of other options to get it working better so I'm going to roll it back to "factory" (ie. just Windows + necessary hardware drivers) and then start reinstalling what is absolutely needed. MS Office, Google Chrome (my browser of choice), Google Drive client, and some A-V software (haven't decide which, yet). Little M has a lot of games and such on there that he doesn't use anymore so I won't put those back, just what he plays these days.

cool and rainy here.
What a busy week-school start up and the pressure because it is already the end of Sept.

Hiliary, thinking of your grandpa and your family . . . and you! Hard to be apart from family members when things are going on in their lives. Take care.

Sitting having highlights placed in my hair. Stayed up late binge watching and relaxing thinking that I could sleep in today. My phone rang early. It was the hair salon stating they had a cancelation and would I like to come in early. So I sit here yawning.

On the other hand I love the talk show Graham Norton . One of my favourite episodes includes the Monument Men - bill Murray, Matt Damon and Hugh Bonneville and the singer paloma
