much different being a consultant vs employee)

True enough, though I'm rather of the mindset that I want to get as far away from IT management as I can once I'm done. I never set out on this career track; it kind of snuck up and mugged me in a back alley. Books, writing, and history are my first loves and so I'll want to move back in that direction. Computers will definitely be a part of my life, but as a tool for doing other stuff rather than the focus of my work.

Crocusses, Carolla, I am envious. I saw the first one sticking out1 cm, but we are getting 15cm of snow tonight, so no crocusses for a while.

Chemgal, the first symptom was frequent urges to go to the washroom, then the urgency increasing, then, dancing and not being able to make it..ie, bent over, dang, I have to go NOW. that kinds of loss of need and loss of control were symptoms...and they had been there for a bit, got worse a day or two before, and then, to the immediate care needed you referenced.
I get the urgency, but by the time I use the washroom a second time it's always noticeable blood is present. It probably is there the first time, but not visible.

Good Grief -Pinga - how do you do it all?!! Things sound a bit like they are piling up on you. Hope it all settles down again - soon.

I saw the first geese today AND we cut some pussy willows for a vase in the house, to help us remember that spring will get here. Lost lots of snow today but most of it seems to be making big puddles in the road. The drains are still buried under banks of snow that are acting like dams.

Saw a cartoon in the New Yorker last eve of 2 Bald Eagles masquerading as Canada Geese as they despised being goosed by the American Highlight ... an overpowered eagle ... very much below par on wisdom ...

The western occipital stress is towards power and self destruction ...

I had a couple of purple crocuses close to the basement wall on the south side a week or so ago - before they opened completely we had a deep freeze for a few days, and then they were buried under a foot of snow. With temps above freezing and sunshine predicted for the next few days that snow should disappear bu t I doubt of those two crocuses survived. Let's hope there are a lot more that were sensible enough to wait for spring.
Today is the first day of Spring. I am so tired of dark colours and heavy winter clothes. I'm already rummaging through the spare room closet to find something more cheerful.
Unfortunately in NB we don't have many beautiful spring days (like yesterday and today). Most years we have damp, slush and mud - and then HOT. I've expressed before how I feel about HOT weather. I just hope for a bit of time in between.

Going to the recording studio tonight with a group to record Mike Bravener's; Reason to Live!

There is quite a story behind it ... most authorities wouldn't wish to listen tow it ...

I did when I was a kid. Now I appreciate their delightful silvery fuzziness. I also appreciate that my partner was the 'stomp through the snowdrift person', while I stood on the reasonably solid gravel road to watch!

I saw that Betty Kennedy of front page challenge died.

My grandmother loved that show.
She was given award when the show ended for being one of the top submitters to the show.

A wonderful lady. I used to watch FPC with my parents. A surprisingly entertaining show. Mom was a big fan of Gordon Sinclair (I liked him, mainly for his rather rather crusty cynicism). It is probably where I first encountered Pierre Berton, too, though I'm not 100% sure of that. Mom and her brother both read his books so there were always a few around the house so I may have seen those first.

In addition to Kennedy, I note that we've lost comedian Bob Robertson who, with his wife Linda Cullen, formed the comedy team Double Exposure back in the eighties. They were on CBC Radio for a decade, then moved to TV with CTV for a few seasons. Very, very funny pair.

Yes I think you're right crazyheart.
I remember watching FPC mainly when visiting my grandparents - kinda interesting show - encouraged reading the newspaper & following the news to guess along - pre-internet days by a long shot!

Hey Luce - how's your brother doing since his surgery? Have been thinking about him recently for some unknown reason.

Activities being done that are not rational ... he tore out his Master bedroom Bath ... and painted the whole inside of the house ... contrary to medical orders for absolute rest! Heis lucky to be alive! Some trait sof our late and pig-headed father ... who had to have something to do as quiet times haunted him and he couldn't read ... or do other light work!

Yet he is still alive God bless him ... he does have a good heart ... though the connectors are messed up ... I am a foreigner in this family ... I can enjoy quiet and questioning times ... especially about gods, Theo's, duos, deuce and other schism 'd thoughts ... cracked immaterial stuff? Approaches ghosts of thought in emotional realms ... thus strange ...
