Can you believe ... it checked himself out this AM ... silly fart! Some genes there from def ather ... terrified of hospital surroundings ...

Oh dear - this does happen. Hopefully he stayed long enough for the staff to get any necessary prescriptions written, follow up arrangement made, etc. etc. Hopefully too he feels more peaceful at home, and as pinga says will allow others to help and watch over him.

Yah, me too but my siblings are odd ... of course the role modeling was a bit off too ...

My experiences with life are a bit frothy and bumpy ... sort of quantum and indeterminate ...

The absolutes I met were staid and plain bad natured ...

Thinking of your brother, Luce, and hoping he had an idea what he was doing. I understand the phobia of being in the hospital environment; hope he has some solid support at his home.

My daughter's just finishing up a "comfort dinner" for the two of us - broiled pork tenderloin, panfried spinach, latkes, tzatziki. Bottle of red to go with. Pull up and join us in a virtual dinner if you'd like.

I had laser treatment on my artificial lens in my eyes on Thursday - uncomfortable but not really painful, and it was quick. For the first 12 hours or so I was disappointment. Then, with my pupils back to normal after having been dilated, my vision improved. Somebody must have turned the lights on and blew the fog away. I can see clearly now. Still a bit of double vision when reading, but Wow~I can read, page after page without too much trouble, and I can see across the room, across the street. I didn't realize how worried I was about losing my vision until I got it back. I'm really relieved that I won't lose my driver's license.

We drive a young man to church. He has been legally blind since birth - enough vision to see with a lighted magnified glass and large print bulletin, and to get around town by bus, but not much else. He has a couple of university degrees and works for the CNIB. Compared to him, my problems are not significant.

Excellent news Seeler - so glad for your sight to be recovering!

My goodness ... looks like our BC friends are getting lots of snow!

Speaking of west coast friends - anybody seen or heard from Innana in recent time - I would put a question mark there, but I`ve screwed up my keyboard again & it enters this É instead of a question mark! Now to remember how to fix that ... grrr ...

I have a keyboard thing on the bottom corner of my screen where I can switch the languages just by clicking on it.

Innana posted a while ago he was leaving.

There's also a hotkey to do it (which is usually how accidents like @Carolla's happen) but I always have to Google it to find it. It is the left ALT key + SHIFT.

I can never remember it, so easier to just use the icon. Plus it's not the same on all computers.

But not all computers show the icon. I'm running Windows 8.1 with the Classic Shell add-in for the Start Menu and it doesn't show up.

Oh! I thought they all had it. All of the ones I have used, including public shared computers have had it.

I think all Windows 7 boxes I have used have. This may be a Windows 8 thing or a quirk of my laptop.

yeah - I didn't see a keyboard icon ... went through control panel etc. etc. to change the language back. I think it probably was the left Alt+Shift error Mendalla - happens now & then when I'm working on my little netbook - the keyboard is smaller & slightly differently configured. Back to questioning again tho! See - ????? LOL - great when small victories can give us such satisfaction!!
