Feeling worn out. Had a throat attack, pretty sure it started in my sleep and I was too clueless this morning although before getting out of bed, surfing the net to figure it out. Had a phone call and knew.
Decided to try out Firazyr for the first time as daytime is a better time to go to the ER. Worked well, response about as fast as berinert which is good to know for future use. Faster considering prep time is minimal. Symptoms minimal, mostly reaction at injection site which I was expecting as most people get it. Big looking welt the felt hot and a bit of a bruise kinda pain. That's mostly gone down. Minor headache too, although it could have just been stress.
I had to check in with triage a 2nd time as I wasn't sure if I was having a rebound attack, symptoms had totally disappeared and then throat felt a bit funny. Nurse in the back seemed totally clueless why I was there. Had to repeat several times I was supposed to go to ER first time using med.
By the time the figured maybe I should treat symptoms as a rebound they were gone again haha It was well after an hour that I had informed staff of the issue, probably close to 2 hours.
Will pay attention to throat tonight. Even with rebound I like the aspect of having this med due to the ease of use and time to use. If I'm out somewhere it should at least buy me a few hours before needing to do the IV infusion.

In a weird way, is it good to get that first time out of the way?
Absolutely!
Not as painful as I expected based on what others have said. No serious bad reactions. I know it works. Don't need to go to emergency again just because of the med use.

Next time I'm out somewhere and have an attack that I can use it for (no extremities) I will no longer be questioning if it's worthwhile to use the Firazyr instead of doing the whole IV thing.

I had a lovely visitor at my camping spot today. So good to catch up. Supposed to rai tonight and that is good to. Loving the laziness of Aug camping

Who was your visitor? A deer, porcupine or human? Camping is always good fun, even in the rain. Hope you have a blast.

Should try camping again someday but my back doesn't even like hotel beds anymore based on this last trip (though we were changing locale frequently so part of the issue was never getting used to a bed before I was off to another one) so even with an air mattress, I'm not sure how well I'd take it. Still, we may give it a go again someday.

I'm kinda on the same wavelength Mendalla - so kudos to pinga for going camping! Are you tenting pinga? I did LOTS of camping as a kid, and young adult, and parent of young kids. Maybe a nice little trailer would work for me when I retire ... was looking at some recently on-line that were tiny but had considerable appeal to me at this stage of life. We've rented a little cottage for a week in the fall - hoping to enjoy crisp days of hiking, some fishing, some campfires ...

I'm of the opinion that no more fun can be had by camping than if one sleeps indoors and goes out somewhere for the day/evening.

I think most of it depends what you're sleeping on. If you can get in a posturepedic/pillow top or whatever it is you normally sleep on within a tent trailer or better, you're probably okay, especially if you take your own head/body pillows (I have a rather specific combo I like). I think "on the ground", no matter how you try to disguise it, is a no go once you get to a certain age/spine deterioration level.

Nice mattress on a canal boat in England is definitely do-able.

For many years we camped with a tent. Bought a new one in 2000. Some years later it was becoming more challenging and we bought a wee fibre glass trailer at a bargain price that was like a Boler.. A couple of years later we bought a different one in better condition. Both times we had them inspected by a trailer expert who upgraded the propane supply and checked everything.

Still camping and enjoying it. It feels quite luxurious to have a fridge, heater and comfy bed with memory foam! We use it much like a tent and cook outside and use the campground facilities during the day. I have a Porta Potty for the night time .

@Carolla . Our family have been tenters and I had planned to tent this trip. We have great gear and I didn't mind sleeping on the ground.

Last year my husband bought a trailer. It is the largest allowed in tent sites. It has a seating area which turns into a double bed at the front. Along the sides are a two seater table and the kitchen with microwave and stove. . In the back corner, it has a washroom with shower , sink, toilet.
There is a furnace, hot water heater and air conditioner. As campers, these aren't used much.

Given the month we had, I asked my husband to haul the trailer to the campground which was a wise decision as I didn't have to spend time organizing or setting up . He did all that for me.

I have read, slept, walked, visited with friends.

Quite relaxing

I'm a tenter. I do have a small cot if car camping. But hey I did the pilgrimage in Nova Scotia sleeping on my thermarest in churches. I also enjoyed the luxury 5th wheel with my cousins one night. And chemgal I disagree with you. I prefer sleeping in a tent to a cabin.

Camping has been very rare for me. Mostly outdoor school. I have much more fun when I'm not horribly sick, that's what camping does to me. Too high of allergen concentrations for long periods and then the temperatures don't always help.
