Pinga, even though its been warm there is a bit of a chill in the air this morning so I've started a little fire in the fireplace to cheer up the room. Coffee is ready and freshly made biscuits and raspberry jam (from the black raspberries in my back yard). When you finish breakfast here is a prayeer shawl to wrap up in and a bit of quiet music in the background.

There are those that believe emotions just things of spirit and thus deny them as pathological welts i.e. lets dismiss them as useless PTSD and thus they proliferate, sublimely!

Good lord is there really a spirit hidden in the brain ... virtue ... clearly unseen; rye as a Jae Boyd (all you see is the Shadow passing as quick form)?

Was Jonah's Wahl a virtual weal as a scar carried mentally from the previous orders ... a particularly odd fish I the range of IR through UV? Shift of hues due to retreating or approaching light as confuse many that may have fixed visions ...

Seeler's got the right idea - in emotionally stressful times it's time to head for the comfort food......

A dear, dear church friend recently presented me with a gift, a jar of her homemade lemon butter. I toast a thick slice of raisin toast, put on a generous serving of real butter, and smother it with lemon butter. It's so extravagant it's decadent - but savoured with a strong cup of Irish breakfast tea it's very comforting.

It also has the added bonus of knowing that I'm doing what I can to feel a little better.......

I just ate dinner and you're still making me hungry.

So much going on these days ... and I'm grateful to journey along with so many fine folks here through life's ups and downs, trustingly shared.

On the happier side of things, I was thinking tonight that Sterton must be married by now :-) Trusting all was wonderful & she'll pop by to tell us about it when time comes for that.

Weather has been crazy hot here - tonight on the news they were saying we've had 30 days over 30 degrees so far this summer. It's 10:30pm and still the humidex is 38 degrees where I live ... makes it hard to breathe if not in an air-conditioned space, and many are not. As I left the hospital tonight, I counted 8 ambulances stacked outside - haven't seen that in many weeks, so I assume the heat is taking a toll on people. And while the air is so humid, we're enduring such drought ... although it looks like some rain may fall overnight in my area ... we could use a full day or three of gentle soaking. Farm crops are surely struggling.

Tomorrow we're going to visit & bid farewell to friends who will be leaving in a couple of weeks on a grand adventure. They & their kids (age 6 & 10) are leaving in Sept for a year away - to Israel where they have family; to Italy - distant family on the other side; and then to India where she will continue studies in Aruyvedic medicine and both will continue with their advanced yoga practices; possibly up to Nepal for a while before returning home. Hoping to keep up with them with an occasional skype chat during their travels. They always spend holidays with us, so we will especially miss them at those times.

Okay - back to check on the Olympics now!

Caarolla, please tell me that cooler weather is on the way. I'm heading for Ontario late this month, and I don't do well in hot weaather. Please tell me that September 10th will be a perfect day. That's the day we are going to see the Blue Jays.
Weather here is cooling somewhat. Yesterdaay was muggy with some drizzle. Today it is predicted to be slight overcast with sunny periods. A bit cool for swimming but my daughter has invited us out and her pool is about 28 degrees. SShe covers it with a cozy blanket at night.

Seeler I am predicting a gorgeous day on September 10! Not too hot, sunny and not humid :-) Perfect for exploring a bit of Toronto, and enjoying the stadium roof open at the ball game! No worries - I'm on it!!

Some sadness going on in my family right now. My sister Mae who's divorced with four kids was hoping to move with the kids from America to Canada to live, but the juried court denied her request. From what Mae tells me, the courts in the part of America where she lives tend to favor the father.

yes, moving (or even travelling) across international borders with children is often challenging in most jurisdictions when one is separated/divorced I think, regardless of which parent is making the move.

Yes the courts need a good reason to move kids from close proximity to both parents to a different country with easy access to just one parent. Sometimes a great job offer will make the difference. Meanwhile I hope your family visits Mae a lot and the kids and her go to Ont. for a visit.

From what Mae tells me, the courts there just tend to favor the father. If the father wanted to bring the kids to Canada, there probably wouldn't be a problem. It's hard to believe - really the opposite of how things tend to go here in Ontario. In Yobo's country of South Korea, though, things are much the same - courts tend to be on the dad's side.

A taste of patriarchal justice? Should it be conserved?

One more day until my vacation trip begins (yay!). Won't be around much, if at all, the next couple weeks so I may be out of the loop on Pinga's father and other concerns on here. I'll be here in spirit, though, and I'll leave some good vibes (and a selection of good loose leaf teas) in the room for those who need them.

If you missed earlier mentions of this trip and want to know where I'm going, check out Last Post. ;)
