Bathtub might be ok for a young person to do some laundry - but it is awfully hard on the back. (I've done it in my single days in my early 20s) I wouldn't recommend it for anyone older.

Depends on the bathtub. I find my soaker isn't too bad. Nice wide ledge to sit, so not too far to bend over. The tap is on the side rather than on one of the ends.
Not a way I would want to do laundry regularly, but I prefer it to standing at a sink, especially for larger items.

Had a pretty busy weekend. Chemguy's dad was here yesterday. We now have an additional outlet outside.
Today we pretty much tripled our outer storage space compared to what we have been living with for a while. Some guys came over and put up a shed that was sitting in a box in our garage for over 6 months - bought it in the fall on sale when Costco actually had it in stock, they sold out last spring. I got to hang out with my nephew, sister and Chemguy's sister.

I'm pretty worn out, had a long evening nap. My part of putting up the shed - ordering pizza, picking up some fruit and a veggie tray, washing and cutting up some veggies (mostly bought stuff that was low on prep) and setting up an ice bucket with some drinks was hard work! haha

Was a pretty good day to do it. It wasn't all that hot although with the sun it felt much hotter than it was. I got a bit of a burn doing a bit of quick watering, checking in on the guys and sitting in the shade for a fairly short time before everyone took off. The rain held off until the evening, originally when we planned this scattered showers were predicted throughout the day.

That was a busy and productive weekend chemgal. Do not underestimate the help you were, or the fact that you had got the shed in the first place. Given your health needs-you certainly do what you can!

It's just kind of amusing how tired I get compared to what the others were doing.
To be fair though my nephew is pretty active although not really crawling. While it was spread out over three of us I do find holding him up as he stands, jumps, etc. to tire me out fairly quickly. Being able to cut more than one bell pepper in a row is not something I can do everyday either, so that was good. I could have just bought a veggie tray but prefer picking out the stuff separately and I felt up to prepping it.

Er, an additional outlet --> outside?

Whoever would want to use such a facility?

Assuming she means a hydro outlet, I have two (one at the front and one at the back) that I use for lawn trimmers, hedge clippers and, for this weekend only, my neighbour's electric chainsaw. A lot of people still have corded electric mowers, too (mine is gas) though I know the battery powered ones are becoming pretty common. So, outdoor outlet is pretty useful stuff, really.

Not to mention plugging in speakers, radio, etc., in the back yard.

I still have a corded mower; as long as you know where to start to minimize working around trees, you're fine. Cuts nicely. Relatively non-polluting. Quieter. I have to cut today; my guy did the back Saturday, but the front looks like a hayfield, since guy next door cut his (nice) grass this a.m. My weeds only look nice when they're short... I got all of my tomato and pepper plants in bed yesterday. Just have a couple of more areas to sort out; there's a hop plant taking over a spot...

I don't cut grass anymore. Teenager does that. Neighbour has hired him to do his, too. Alas, probably only a year and a bit until he moves out unless he goes to uni locally.

Oh, a hydro outlet. Thanks. I had something else in mind...

In Ontario it is a "Hydro" outlet. The rest of Canada calls them electrical outlets. Power can come from sources other than hydro dams.

Even here, it's as likely to come from a nuke or gas plant as a hydro dam. We do not use hydro as heavily as Quebec does (though I think we do buy some of their surplus during peak times). The use of "hydro" here is a holdover from when Ontario Hydro first started and hydroelectric power was the main source (e.g. the old plant at Niagara Falls).

I always refer to it as 'hydro'. Or as 'power'.
"Gotta pay the hydro bill."
"Did your power go off last night?" "How long do you think it will be before the power comes on?"

Hydro outlet was new to me, but yes, that's what it is.
With all the hot & dry weather, Chemguy wants to make watering with the sump pump water (that thing runs so often, even if we empty them, they fill up within a few hours) much easier.
I went from needing to walk all the way to the front of the fence to fill up a watering can with one barrel, to having a long house so I didn't need to walk alongside the house, just the lawn plus an additional hose sticking out into the front, to now 2 barrels.
No outer pump is connected yet, but that should allow us to run a hose all the way up to the garden (currently the pressure would be too little to do that) not to mention possibly water the grass.

Hold it. Watering using the sump water? What a great idea. Is that something that the plumber did when the house was built or something? My sump is in the basement and just pumps the water out to the storm drain, IIRC.

I've mentioned it before when talking about gardening, much cleaner than roof rain water!

Here, unless houses are about 5 years old or newer sump pumps usually push the water to the side of the house and then most people have a big hose on the outside that carries out front or to the back if they have an alley. Chemguy just stuck the rain barrels in between, the hose still needs to go out front otherwise we'd have a soggy patch alongside our house.

Most houses here have this. Our hose is mostly under the sod out front, but it's above ground right in front of our fence, plus where it sticks out. Most houses just have them laid out like the picture.
