You've been there too long already. Starting to sound like you belong there.

Basically, I went rogue on my very first design. I held my breath, but they agreed with me.

Whew.

If I was paying an engineer to design my deck, I would expect him or her to do this. Tell me how to do it right, not just how to do it. (y)

So I get my first client (before I'm ready, but they're in a rush), and they are set on having me design them a concrete deck. A big one. I take measurements last week, try to find a layout that works and doesn't obstruct views....and realize it's not a good idea. Go back today and tell them that their idea is stupid and they want a wood frame deck with composite or vinyl deck surface to be as maintenance free as possible, and a water management system to redirect the rainwater. Basically, I went rogue on my very first design. I held my breath, but they agreed with me.

Whew.
What is your business? All smaller outdoor projects like decks and gazebos or ... ?

Saturday Granddaughter was involved in her first accident since she started driving. She was in the parking lot at Costco, stopped, with her signal on, waiting while a car exited a parking spot when another car backed out of a spot and broadsided her. No one hurt but both cars damaged. And the woman from the other car ran up to Granddaughter and began yelling at her and cursing her.
Fortunately Granddaughter was meeting her mother at Costco. She quickly phoned her and Seelergirl came out to find the woman still yelling demands for name, insurance, etc. and 'look what you f***ing did to my new car' while Granddaughter was fighting back tears. Anyway the police were called, asked questions of one person crying and the other shouting blame. And there wrote up their report putting the blame on the other driver. By then Granddaughter was too upset to drive. She called Seelerman and I. We went right over and I drove her car home.
She declared that she would never drive again, but the next day she drove to work.

This was a minor parking lot accident. There was no need for it to escalate to a shouting / crying match.
Seelergirl tried to explain to Granddaughter that perhaps the other driver was having a bad day

oh those first accidents are awful ... learning experience tho! Glad to hear nobody was physically injured ... and that she drove off to work the next day. :-)

haha Mine was the day I got my licence.
Glad everyone was ok Seeler! It's good to get the cops out for a situation like that I think. She was lucky, often parking lot accidents are put down as 50/50 regardless of what happened.

What the church needs is more rogues ... so they have more ʄ(rogues) to shoot in the pool!

That "ʄ" is for function ... a metaphor of some doings to understand if you're not into science and prescience of what a word could mean ... and thus near eternal variants! Allows some vision ... of things understood that you better tell a story about as those that don't understand will call it mystery or mystical ... perhaps even a mire a' cla'!

Road rage and the worship of a ideal of emotionalism ... supports drama and myths and those guys playing traveling minstrels and their dames ... I still support limited emotionalism and a God of means and mediums ... a bit psychic?

Damn is that alien in a world devoted to higher emotions?

They used to burn mediums at the stake ... and now they shoot them in church ... ever had a stinker (back seat) take a shot at you for being up front with rogue aspirations about false business? These are bodies with great doings ... busy!

If a thought is metaphysical ... can one destroy something that isn't real and thus dreams continue as aspirations after the expiration? "Gasp" I didn't know this would follow the first climax ... anti-climax? What a subtle act to see what was laid down as a plant ... like kirks! Sort of like IRe between two icons of reflection "k's" ... the ancients called eM Ka's for thought!

But you know how the post modern's feel about posted thoughts ... so pose it as fiction ... later if it comes true ... it could become virtue as myth (virtues myth)! Thoughts all depend on the way tis writ ... a literary gift sometimes called satyr! The hex can vary as a spell ...

Arrived in Corner Brook. Dropped my friend off at her son-in-law's family's place, then drove to my son's apartment.
How lovely to walk in and see a bottle of wine waiting and a Corner brook tourism guide. Good son.
Love his apartment.

Good to have a place to settle. Thoughtful of him to leave you a nice bottle of wine - since he's not there now! Who woulda thunk it?

There is a nice walking trail up beside the river (or is it a brook???) - enjoyed that a couple of times.

Had a nice fresh lunch at Harbour Grounds Cafe - has a lovely deck overlooking the harbour https://www.facebook.com/Harbour-Grounds-134763229899939/

Also enjoyed Brewed on Bernard - down the hill from the University - little coffee shop with good wraps, sandwiches etc to eat in or take out. Nice comfy couches & a few tables.

That's a sucky situation for your granddaughter Seeler. Glad no one was hurt and I guess it's perhaps one of the better ways to have a first accident with mom close by and grandparents able to come help too. I'd hope it would be fairly easy to determine the blame when the onus is on the driver pulling out to make sure the coast is clear.

Seeler, although no one was physically hurt, it sure was a trauma for your daughter.
I don't understand people who yell like that; hwoever, I guess there lives must be challenging if that is how they responded.
I am glad Seelergirl had family like you to support her, and that the police offer saw through it.
