Ps, decided to have a good breakfast before I get on the highway. I asked for a newspaper, and then checked in the attached store for one. No one had one. What a shift from 10 years ago.

I am going to wisconsin for a wedding this weekend. Then, I come home and head to Washington DC for 5 days, then I come home for a week. I then head to newfoundland which is looking like just over 3 weeks from start to finish, then head to wisconsin again for a grad party taking place on may 28th. That takes me to the end of may before I am home.

I will be happy to be home in june!

Ah retirement. Can't come soon enough, me thinks. Enjoy your travels.

(And deep fried cheese curds? Just reading that almost had me running for an AED.)

Remember when retired the young folk are conditioned to believe you useless ... thus ancient wisdom is denigrated or subtle to those that could use some ... or sum as integrated!

You know anything assuming a sense of "nigre" is not thought of well and thus the Shadow of intelligence is even denied ... especially in burning emotional rants ... as old folks denigrating emotional activities of a' dhal essence ! Something coming from Tajo 'M ... with "all" the other constructs indicated in the reflection pool!

Emotionally when immersed you cannot experience this until eliminated ... Exclusion Principal! In the eternal case this is a gross stretch as buried in Fermat's Last Projection on ringed items ... fruits that draw tiers like news from the broad-based foundation of your desires? She may give you temporal relief from you worries tho' ... extracted as numb DNA? As in the stock market a virtue all mil queue in ... at a time when you are most numbed ... if you knew better you probably would contribute ... God and creation is odd that way ... there are alternates!

I am on this trip. Currently listening to a collection of short stories by Jeffery Deaver "trouble in mind"

Pretty good.

About to leave Michigan. Has been a beautiful day. Now to get through Chicago.

Chicago was slooooowwwww. It's amazing how many accidents can occur on a beautiful sunny day in stop/go traffic. Luckily, I wasn't in any of them. Took me 11hrs but I stopped for gas twice, stopped for washroom & walking break twice, oh, and stopped to get a tim Horton's for my sister as well. still, nice to check up on emails and let my husband know that I made it safely.

*sigh* Not really impressed with Epcor right now. Water is out for the area. They say if there's any issues to go to their website, but they are taking their time to update, not even a mention of an issue currently.
It takes a long time to get through, they are hanging up on people and aren't being too kind when they do talk to people.
Best updates are via facebook as people post if they get through. It sounds like it's even going to take them an hour+ to even come to the area.

Luckily no infusion planned tonight. If I was doing an IV (for non-attack) I would probably be going elsewhere so I could properly wash my hands. With SC I at least feel like hand sanitizer is probably good enough, no need to get my fingers all over the site.

@Pinga, Do you listen to novels when you drive

We listened to CBC radio during our two trips coast-to-coast - except in Quebec and a few areas where we couldn't get reception. Then we popped in CDs for music. our new car has suirius xm for music or various radio stations.

CBC radio in Canada, and NPR in the US are my goto's, but, I have also been known to listen to country stations for road trips. I did love listening to the talkingbooks aka audiobooks, though, so I can see them continuing in my long-distance driving.

I remember driving back solo from Halifax one time when Mrs. M lived there. Did it in three days (1st day, crossed NS and NB, 2nd day crossed Quebec and ended up in Cornwall, ON, 3rd day got home to Hamilton).

I spent the first night in a motel near the NB-Quebec border, rose early. I started out that day listening to the Atlantic broadcast of Morningside on CBC Radio (this was before they called it CBC 1). When I lost the station and had to find a new one, I ended up hearing the first hour again as I had crossed into Eastern by that point.:)

It is weird to be in this city, in this hotel and not be going to work today. It's like, "i should be" "oh wait, nope...don't need to do that". First weird retirement moment.

Looking forward to lunch with friends, some shopping, then catching up with my sis' tonight..and then the wedding.
I am feeling badly for the family as they lost their mother/grandmother this week, so have had to plan a funeral which will take place on Monday

A wedding and a funeral on basically the same weekend? That's got be a real storm of mixed emotions. My thoughts go out to them.

chemgal,
You might want to consider keeping a 4 litre jug of distilled water around for such occasions.
I have water around, but using that with proper handwashing technique isn't all that simple.

Luckily, it came back quickly. Never did see anything on the website, but their twitter account mentioned that it wouldn't be fixed until late evening around the time that it was restored.

Sad time to lose someone close, not having them there at the wedding or being able to share in some of the moments shortly after.

What I find very fun about Radio 2 is playing around with the station/time zone I'm listening to. If I forget to start Vinyl Cafe at 9 a.m. on Saturday, I wait for an hour and listen to it on Central. And if I go to the live in HD Met Opera in the afternoon, I can come home, switch back to Pacific and listen to the last part of the opera again... And if I'm going out in the evening, but want to listen to Deep Roots, I switch to Atlantic and listen a bit early...

Yeah, capitalizing on the time zones can be fun. One of the things I lost by dropping my TV package to the new "basic" one is time shifting for the Canadian networks. I used to have CBC, CTV/CTV2, Global, and CITY in all time zones so I could choose when to PVR a show or catch it in Mountain or Pacific time if I missed in one of the closer time zones.

Chemgal,
I know you can get a hand pump thingy to go on the large barrels of water. We've used that when car camping. I am sure you are ingenious enough to find a way.

Enjoy the wedding Pinga.
