Thank you all for your kind words about my gout. I really don't deserve any kind words at all, and you've all offered me wonderful encouragement and empathy.

The meds and rest are beginning to kick in. Today was certainly better than yesterday was. Mom's been helping me with my diet and Yobo's taking care of me too.

Again, thanks.

this is your 2nd attack of gout recently. It does seem wise to look at your diet and general lifestyle so you can reduce future episodes. Here's to some positive changes.

Well, not off to the best start.

Woke up before the alarm at 2:38am, got ready in record time, and driver arrived on time. Had a relaxing trip to the airport.
Since I was business class and I have Nexus, I flew through check-in, printed my ticket and then went through security.

Spent an hour hanging out, spent some time in the Air Canada lounge, then went to the gate.
Got called up at 5:50 for zone1 boarding, and....my ticket wasn't working.
Got sent over to the more senior gate agent, and .....they said I had no ticket.
My jaw dropped. I pulled out my itinerary showing my ticket from aeroplan. They said I had no ticket.
I showed them my ticket from the gate, and they said "you have no ticket".
Flight leaves at 6:30am, aeroplan opens at 7am.
They pulled my luggage from the plane.
I said, but I have a receipt. They said "but you don't have a ticket".
They gave away my seat.
I watched the gate close and the plane left.

I waited for 7am. I went to Air Canada customer service. They said they could do nothing for me.
I called Aeroplan. They said "oh". They gave me a new ticket on this afternoon's flight.
I confirmed my seat with Air Canada.

I hope my luggage makes it.

I am now killing 6hrs in the air Canada lounge, wishing they had recliners but thankful for having the lounge.

sigh.

oh Pinga how frustrating. At least you are in a safe place and mostly comfortable and will get there today. Happy trip!

GRRRR - glad you got it resolved & eventually on your way pinga. Enjoy that wonderfully indulgent vacation - well deserved!!

Oh, Pinga. I can't imagine a more stressful way to begin a holiday: the stuff of nightmares in my opinion.

Well, arrived, but....my luggage didn't.

My sister met with a glass of champagne though when I got off the shuttle.
The ocean is almost below our balcony (a pool is below the balcony, then a little bit of grass, then a narrow rocky shoreline. The water sounds lovely breaking on the rocks.

Pinga how frustrating!
Some of my big concerns with flying. It sounds like you can deal with those changes much better than I.

Announcing that I'll be joining the cast of Dancing With The Stars for the TV show's 22nd season.

Let that bounce around in your head for a bit ... call it bobbin for a spin of fabric ... and thus you might strike a chord that isn't there ... imagine the string that would leave of wee figments of incarnate ... neither black, white nor transparent ... are parents in essence transsexuals if they are into one another: physically, mentally and emotionally? Tare NDs uLLa that share dreams, aspirations and worst fears ... and thus X ceptional? The stuff that crosses back and forth ... inde course of coarse activities that many observers despise ... people creating passionate activities ... a' f*c*up to hard cases that are into hating and building walls?

The cards that are turned up in the wind ... attempts to face up to people that wish not bridges between emotions and knowledge .... intellectual wealth that to some is fool's gold? Wisdom in the street sense just isn't there ... if it was somebody would make-it-be ... sublime ... or so' La!

Tabitha, next time I will pack my bathing suit in my carryon. One of the challenges of being bigger again is finding clothes, including a bathing suit at an average store. I did ok. I bought a little sundress. The restaurants have dresscode for dinner, so there were few that I could go to in the resort last night. Improper shoes. My sundress might have cut it. We still had a lovely dinner.

My sinuses are clearing up from the salt air. So nice to be coughing less. It is supposed to storm today, but so far, it is a gorgeous day.

ah yes Pinga, I always have a bathing suit in my carry on. In my 20's it was always a bikini. Now it's a tankini or 1 piece. Glad you have luggage.Enjoy your holiday.

I almost never fly, but when I do travel I always tuck a bathing suit into my luggage. It doesn't take up much room and you never know when you will have an opportunity for a little swim -- someone's backyard pool, or condo pool, or motel pool - or if you are lucky there might be the opportunity for a splash at a beach. It doesn't take up much room yet so often, whether it is at a church conference and we find the campus pool is available to us, or visiting a relative who's watching the neighbour's house and pool, or stopping overnight at a motel with a pool, or near a lake, I like to take a dip. And often my travelling companion will moan 'I wish I had brought my suit.'

Beta no bikini atoll?

The few timecards I get to travel anywhere (resale that I'm a member of the work-in pot), I like to take a circuit along - if I'm cooking come please with published ceiling. If, however, I'm cooking compels with private ceiling, I do not bring along a guitar. I prefer ceiling in the nude, and my loved ones have some to expert and appreciate that.
