WE are having your west coast weather today @Northwind! It's beautifully sunny & 12 degrees! I was out for a stroll - got to chat with lots of neighbours (from a distance of course!) - very enjoyable!

Ugh, our microwave isn't working. Not something we can easily switch out as it's an over the stove one. We do have one in our basement , hopefully that works. A pain though to have that sitting on the counter.

Looks like we will have a microwave sitting on the counter until this pandemic is over, the old one is still working.

Feeling cranky today. My husband also said that he feels a shift in mood. I know...it's a luxury to feel cranky. Hope I am in better humour tomorrow to deal with this new version of life.

Indeed Nancy - it's so natural to have an 'off day'. Helpful to be able to alert others ... I speak from experience :devil::angel: so they can don their bulletproof vests & get out of my way! Coping with so much change and uncertainty wears us out. Tomorrow is a new day tho.

I just decided to host "Happy Hour" tomorrow with 2 other couples - we all get together a couple of times a year - so this seemed timely. It will of course be 'virtual' - but should be fun! And on Saturday the women on our street, who periodically gather for coffee & catch-up are getting together for a Zoom gathering :-) So I'm looking forward to both of those things.

Handy tip: if you don't have a smart-phone or properly equipped computer, there are very cheap tablet solutions available.

My colleagues have decided to get together on a large order at the local vineyard...... ( that sounds similar to “Happy Hour)

Happy Friday, all. For those of us having more than our fair share of 'bad days', welcome to the coffee tea and cart. Have a cup of something warm and friendly, and remember that, even in self-isolation, you are not alone in this.

Looks like a two coffee morning!

c(_) * raises mug to spring weather *

c(_) * wonders why WC2 seems to be slowing down in these days of self-isolation and physical distancing *

I haven't run stats but I think we may have picked up. After the slowdown last fall, I am finding it livelier.

I'll do some more analysis later and maybe post something in News & Business, but we had a huge surge in posting activity through most of March (surprise, surprise) but it seems to have cooled off a bit this week.

My Broadview magazine came in the mail this week - sitting on the coffee table. I haven't honestly looked at it yet - been SO busy LOL! Maybe I'll get around to it & we can start a thread to discuss some of the articles :-) We might be getting worn out with the COVID discussions.

Busy? Are you really? I am not busy at all. In these times of restriction I have been slowing down rather than revving up.

I gave up my paper subscription to Broadview about a year ago. If you select any of the articles which appear on their website, I will join the discussion. I agree that COVID is wearing us out and it would be good to talk about something else.

So BUSY was a sarcastic/joking comment (as per the LOL comment) - my calendar has never looked SO empty! Had a great Happy Hour 'party' with friends this afternoon - we'll meet up again in a couple of weeks. Also had a great video chat with our son & gf this afternoon - it was good to see them & catch up on news.

Got it! I wasn't sure because you have been talking a lot about baking lately. I know some people who are handcrafting, cooking and baking like crazy right now. Along with cleaning up their basements. Those Type A personalities, I guess. :)

I am busier with shifts than usual. My usual 2-3 is now always 3-4 and Pam called me this a.m. We have a core group of "senior ladies" who are pt cashiers, and have been offered a temp layoff. Also, 3 of our core teens are immune-compromised, and they're off. I don't anticipate that this house will get any (extra) cleaning. And I think I'm using "Skip the Dishes" more often...

And I'm doing way more laundry, because I wash everything I work in, so that's extra work. Thinking about calling the "baby sister thrift shop" to see if she has any hand-me-down jeans, as three pair aren't cutting it at present.

I'm actually feeling busier. I have the extra medical appointments now - unrelated, but just coincidental for timing. Then sorting out some of the other medical stuff and meds takes time too.
With work, I'm not at the busiest I have been with this job, but I do think I got a bit of stuff sent my way when people were backing off on field visits and sat down and looked at the info they had to deal with.

Work has been busy, but things are kind of quiet and normal at home. With us only shopping once a week and Mrs. M doing it there's not a lot to be done beyond the usual. We'll do some yard work tomorrow or Sunday since this coming week is a yard waste pickup, so the weekend may actually feel busier.
