Seosan is beginning to be nippy. Some students at my school were beginning to talk about it being cold til I told them about all the snow Toronto gets.

We can be cool as any thinkers out there ... beyond the emotional core virtue ... so one doesn't get burned by wild flaring forces! Use all means to this stall for Yeomen ... deM*Ares may be rejected ... grinch and bare it ... Green ease!

Horseshoe Valley set a record for early opening this year.

I imagine things are looking good for Blue and Beaver, too. Even rinky-dink little Boler here in London is eyeing breaking last year's record season. Today's snow will be welcome, though they are calling for a warm, wet weekend which will dampen the enthusiasm a bit.

Judging from the winter pictures I have seen from Toronto it isn't very cold there. Hardly anyone wears an Arctic strength parka!

Now I'm going to pour myself a cup of the delicious hot chocolate someone left beside the stove. Thanks, whoever it was. Then I'm going to wrap up in a blankie in the comfortable chair beside the crackling fire. It is so nice having a magical space that can provide whatever I feel I need!

Southern Ontario gets a few really cold days (negative teens or twenties) but a lot of the time we're in the negative single digits. We've seen -30 or -40 with wind chill here, but not frequently. We may be a bit warmer than Toronto due to the moderating influence of the two lakes we are sandwiched between, but not by a lot. And in a really cold winter like we had 2 or 3 years ago, the lakes freeze up and that's that for a moderating influence. And, of course, that means we get more snow (today we have squall lines coming down off of Huron).

doesn't look like the arctic hit they said was coming, came. Looks like a low of -6 for here tomorrow.

We aren't getting the squalls they forecast either, though there are squall lines to either side of London per EC's radar. If they shift a bit East or West, we could still get hammered.

our weather has been mild but we have had flu/cold/respiratory infections sweeping through the schools. In 1 we have assistant and teacher off with pneumonia and sometimes 8 students present in a class of 22. I started with laringitis, got over that for about 5 days and caught the heald cold, upper respiratory virus. Getting better slowly with lots of rest. I took today off work (illness) to try and get all the way well.

Wow. The only time I recall it getting that bad when Little M was in school was when H1N1 flu went through London before the flu shots were out (which was also the last time I had the flu). Get yourself well and I hope things settle down at the school.

Here I think it's mostly GI issues although I do know the flu numbers have jumped up too.
Hoping to stay healthy on the contagious level. I've been feeling pretty sick and really haven't been all that great since the summer. It's hard when I do well for a while - I kind of expect that to stay as my norm. Would be nice if I could get up there for Christmas.
