In a slow-cooker or a large pot over low heat, combine apple cider, orange juice and lemon juice. Season with cloves, ginger and nutmeg. Bring to a simmer. If using a slow cooker, allow to simmer all day.

I wondered what smelled so good in the crockpot in the corner. Wassail It will be ready after supper.

Banana fruit bread...my version of Christmas cake. It is a recipe from long ago days when I lived in Fort Frances Ontario and many people adopted me into their homes and hearts when I didn't know a soul. Wonderful flavour; wonderful memories.

Some Southern Comfort ... will allow that minty flavour from below the Dixie Line ... or some peppered belle ...

"God rest ye merry everyone" kind of fits the tune, I guess, but is a bit ungainly grammatically.

They've moved on to Hark the Herald Angels!

I arrived at the retirement home today to visit Dad, and as I wondered through the main area, I saw that they were having a carol sing.
The leader was valiantly trying to lead and set the tone, but, shall we say that singing was not her forte. As it turned out, the people who were scheduled to be there and lead hadn't shown up. I joined in a bit, while I walked around seeking Dad.
When I found him, I had him join the circle, and sing with the others. He has to sing from memory, but, loves to sing and had a good voice, and still quite good for his age. (If only he could see to read the verses, oh well).
Anyhow, before you knew it, the young lady was saying, can you start it? and we had a real singsong going. I sang into Dad's ear to help him remember the verses he forgot, and the women all had a good time.

Anyhow, it was lovely I was out of practice, breathing was interesting, and, I am an alto and was pitching a soprano / melody line, but we made it work.

So, from that signing, I offer you.... Frosty the Snowman!

What a gift people have if they are able to lead a singsong - or even join in and carry the tune. A gift that I wasn't given - but at least I am able to enjoy singing, if others can carry on around me. I've been told that I sing alto - which probably means i hit an alto note occasionally.

"God rest ye merry gentlefolk" can work.
Not sure what to do about "Satan's power" though.

The satanic verses sometimes appear as minor chords ... sacred dissonance as in the surrounding mutter ... eternal unseen womb en?

Sang with my friend M Bravner at the local Shannex ... doing Silent Night, O Holy Night, Hallelujah (in due respect to the shadowy poet) and a duet based on Everly Bros. Dream ... just to represent things coming of the dark evenly portion of Christmas ... to give some light to the ancients ... if one approaches them with a ballad in song ... thye initiate wiggles ... a prelude to dancing with these tars ... personifies the mystery of life ... go figure!

Luce NDs sings in the choir of his church every Sunday. I occasionally supply there, and I depend upon him to look after the sound system, light the Christ Candle, lend his strong voice to the singing, and ensure in every way that the servicee runs smoothly.

Just doing some last minute Christmas preparation.

Washed the kitchen floor (not fun) and have filled the stockings (lots of fun).
