great photo crazyheart! I love seeing talented and accomplished young people celebrating accomplishments. And I love that they got a photo to you so promptly - internet is so good for being included, even from a long distance.

We had a crazy storm go through here. My brother-in-law sent a photo of big tree branches that went over their house into their backyard. It is a wonder that things weren't broken, other than a bit of plant damage. Tree was their neighbours.

My husband had a more exciting/scary experience. He was golfing, on the green, when the storm came out of nowhere. An apparently healthy tree, 4' in diameter, was ripped out of the ground and fell in front on them. Luckily, no one was injured.

it flashed through here too pinga - sudden intense wind, downpour & a bit of thunder too. Power stayed on, and I haven't been hearing sirens, so i guess no severe damage just around my area thankfully. Glad to hear your family escaped safely! It must be June - just as the peonies are blooming, the intense storms seem to hit!

That's it Carolla. In my humble opinion it needs to be sung often and with feeling in many congregations
For sure Tabitha - my congregation could surely be singing it weekly at the moment - we just voted on Sunday to accept a recommendation to go with an intentional interim minister for the next two years - there was quite a bit of debate about how we couldn't "afford" it - but truly, we cannot afford to skip this opportunity for more honest discernment about our future.

The storm, omg Pinga your husband could have been really hurt. That sounds like a Prairie storm but because we have so much sky, we see them coming for a long time - usually.

My flower bed got hammered by hail just the other day. We had interesting formations in the yard that looked a bit like snowdrifts. Plants grow back and we were thankful we didn't get any broken windows or trees through the roof!

I live close to the hot spot of Canada yesterday! Today it to be slightly cooler 35.
I shut my house up during the day-blinds down and windows closed. I turn on air conditioner only as needed-and open windows in the evenings.
All is well.

Out at the private lake with my sister, nephew, her friend and her baby.
I'm glad babies need naps. I had lots of fun with them, but it's good to sit back now. It was actually hotter here yesterday but I think today was probably a better day to go, sun was hot with wind yesterday. Lots of sunscreen would have been needed. Today I probably didn't need to lather it on as thick as I did, but at least I won't expect a major burn if I missed a spot.

*sigh* Pickup today.
I asked for a few extra needles & syringes, as I had to toss a syringe as it had plastic pieces in it and I contaminated a needle. I got 40 doses (and 40 boxes for the subcutaneous so it's simple). I got 39 needles - these things come in strips of 5.
12 syringes.
Not sure who's doing the math for these orders.

At least the needles are the correct ones. I was forewarned that it's something to watch for as they don't use the ones I need very often.

The mosquitoes are back. A bit slow, I thought they would have been around after the earlier hot weather and then rain, but it was a nice surprise!
I'm still amazed at how the tiny spots I have from them now can be so itchy when I'm used to the huge welts that were just as itchy. At least these small ones look better and a bit of scratching is less likely to do damage to them.

I seem to have developed a degree of resistance to the little beasts. I only know that I've been bitten if I see the mosquito biting me. No welt. No itching. Of course, that means if I come down with West Nile or Zika or something, I'll have no idea where I got it.

It has been a bit quiet here for a while. I suggest we consider a temporary change of venue - let's get out of the room and into the outside world for a bit.

A backyard WonderGathering is just starting in my yard. I have some finger foods ready, the firepit is glowing, and a have a few bottles of the stuff some Christians won't drink. Feel free to come on over, bringing whatever you fancy to make our evening perfect!

It is a totally gorgeous evening - the robin is singing at top volume from the apple tree, the swallows are busy scooping up insects for their nestlings, the finches are still building baby bedrooms and the sparrows are introducing their youngsters to the birdbath.
