Pinga, thinking of you as you wait to begin your treatment. Chemo-radiation is no picnic but you will make it through - and our experience with those working with cancer patients was wonderful.

Hey nancy, does that mean it is a mixed class? What is the split? The only time that I was in a mixed class was when I was skipped from 3 to 5, i was put in a 4/5 split
Yes, Pinga. Split grades seem to be the norm here for a variety of reasons. One reason is the rules about the ELKP (Early learning kindergarten program) re: needing JK and SK students together. Therefore, if you have what could be a full class of JKs only, you need to either make a huge JK/SK class, or split up some of the JKs and SKs into two such classes, or have all the JKs, some of the SKs and then turn the next class up into a SK/Grade 1. Which ends ups resulting in splits further up the ladder.

Ditto to what Seeler said, Pinga.

I delighted in split classes in elementary school. From Grade 1 - 3 I was in a six grade classroom. I could listen to and learn from the older classes - ignoring my own handwork (often busywork) to listen as the teacher taught history and geography - and learning to love both subjects; paying attention to nature and science, health and human development (anything grade six was taught grade one was also exposed to. Listen to interesting stories as they did their oral reading. Math was more a lock-step subject with each grade covering its own curriculum - but I was at least familiar with some of the terminology by the time I hit long devision.
By the time I was in Grade 4 post WW2 enrollment and increased to the point where there were 40 kids in that one classroom - we were split into two classrooms - Grades 1-3, and Grades 4-6. Junior and senior high I was bussed out to a regional school - Two grade 7 classes of 30 kids each, all near the same age and maturity level, emotional and educational level.
Advantages and disadvantages in both.

I'm off to the public health centre, allowed to go there since I normally carry my medication around. It was that or the ER. Waiting this long isn't ideal, but I'm still within the timeframe for this to be useful for the cut I had.
I think I'm making the right decision, but I still don't feel good about this. I'm trying to go with the one doctor who knew only a bit about HAE and thought that may have been the cause of my reaction before. It IS the only time I know of that one of my markers was abnormal - which is to be expected for anyone with type 1 or 2. Maybe it was even the problem for abnormal soreness, nausea and other odd but not major reactions I've had for the rest of them.
Still, I'd appreciate a quick prayer, positive vibes, etc. this morning.

Thanks everyone, it really helps to have that support! I'm feeling good and I was taken good care of there. Got help with taping down the IV, I was scared it wasn't going to go well as it's cold here and the vein disappeared as soon as a put some pressure down but I just kept moving the needle in, no wiggling around necessary.

I waited longer than normal, and had 2 nurses watching me, in the room for a bit, no go out to the waiting room for 15 minutes right away, although I did end up there for a while too.

I felt some mild soreness in that arm, not now. Typically, by now my arm would be in a fair bit of pain and my neck would be fairly achy. Dunno if it's the vaccine difference or the berinert. If I wake up tomorrow fine I think I'll know that I'm safe, minus maybe some attacks in the next few days if a normal reaction triggers them.

Planning to stay occupied but relaxed the rest of the day. It's too easy to notice a small sensation as something otherwise. I had a bit of a wheezy, one cough at the clinic and it convinced me to wait a bit longer just to make sure. I didn't think it was anything, but still there was that little what if voice that I wouldn't have had prior to my bad reaction.

A cold, damp morning here. Quite in keeping with the thoughts in my head as I read of the various health problems being faced by WC2 friends. I'm sending cyber hugs and supportive thoughts into the room. I have added a pot of hot oatmeal with a range of 'additives' - fresh berries, stewed apples from my garden, yoghurt, granola and All Bran (for those who would appreciate a moving experience!

I do not feel well today, I am achy all over and it's pretty bad. I think my arm is slightly sore from the shot, but it's hard to tell over the general achiness, so I think berinert at least helped that way.

Nancy, how heartbreaking to be in this situation. I hope they and you find comfort and strength during this time.

@ChemGal way to be strong. Sucks that it has to be so complicated and so unpredictable. I hope you recover quickly.

@Pinga I'm glad you have some direction now and a goal to strive for.

I had my MRI last evening. It didn't start off right as I forgot my water in the car so dh went to get it. Went to take my ativan and I had grabbed the wrong ones so dh drove quickly home and made it back on time. I had to lie face down in the machine with a pillow under my shoulders, my hand in a mechanism, weights on my arm and hand. My right arm then had to be out like Superman but the wrist had to be centred with my head - doesn't sound hard but after five minutes the top of my arm felt dead and then started to shake but I made it and the best part was that I could see out! I find out the results on the 18th.

Tabitha I'm thinking of you too.

Have a great weekend

Glad you got through your MRI Justme! I doubt they rarely start well, I couldn't find the place within the hospital partially due to renovations.

Thank you Kay. I'll have the fresh berries, unless they're strawberries , granola, and I'll double up on the All Bran.

Had a throat attack, not a huge surprise considering how horrible I felt. I did take an aleve a while ago for the achiness, I'm not 100% but the pain was really bad before. I'm confused how much was the aleve and how much was the berinert as I was paying more attention to my throat right before and after. Either way, my pain is much more tolerable, although I still feel pretty blah.

Chemguy's hoping to dig up all the potatoes, it's been cool and has been raining on and off so we'll see how that goes. It's going to warm up again soon, we might need to wait a bit. I'll go out with him and 'help' as doing something besides laying on the couch and the bed all day is probably a good idea, even if it's only for a short period of time.

A cool day - roast chicken, dressing, potatoes and gravy, garden green beans, and cranberry sauce (Seelerman likes it with chicken as well as turkey). By the magic in this room there is plenty for all.
Tomorrow is going to be hot - please leave enough for a chicken salad so I don't have to cook.

Gentle thoughts to all who are struggling today. Be kind & loving to yourselves. Saying this makes me think of @Beloved - haven't seen her around here much all summer ... I hope it is just because she's out at her cabin, enjoying the natural world & family.

Our weather is quite glorious today - although hot & humid if moving around much! Good day for relaxing, reading on the porch, catching up by chatting with neighbours. I went to the garden centre for a bit ... came home with some spring bulbs (but not what I went there for!) ... the work starts soon to prepare my garden for the Cancer Society spring garden tour.

I was thinking how warm it is., as well. I too am missing beloved and thinking the same carolla.

Thanks for dinner, seeler. Sounds good.

I went for a pedicure and manicure today. I haven't bitten my nails for a few weeks and figured a lift was a great idea.

I will add a bottle of rieslingtothe
