Seeing that Red is still on vacation, I am opening up the room.
Who dumped that big pile of leftover Halloween candy on the table?
Coffee is percolating, tea is ready, fresh pumpkin muffins are on the table and the cat is making French toast in the kitchen.

The rich have different ideals ... that usually indicates a demand for more ...

Thus we regress as everything goes up for sale (a late friend used to declare that) ... eventually the soul is peddled off ...

This allows for peculiar symbolism, even weird for the season ...

@ Mrs. A ... fresh buns are in order if you see any going ... Philly Busters? Goes with the soup we're in considering that many powers cannot see the enigma ...

So details are getting sorted out for our trip to Vancouver on Monday. We are getting a ride from a Cancer Society volunteer, in a Porsche. Accommodations finalized. Just have to book the ferry

Hello? Hello? Anyone here?

What Are You Doing Hello GIF by Jack Stauber

It's very quiet here today. I'll get the fire going again. The cushions are plumped.

Kettle is boiled. Coffee pot is on and ready. I've brought a variety of biscuits, tarts and those fancy little sandwiches you get at teas and such. Of course there's a veggie tray. Hopefully, something for everyone.

Yes, it's obvious how much we miss @Redbaron's hospitality each morning.

I have had a very busy, but productive day. I now have a beer in hand (Flying Monkeys' Scratch 'n Sniff, a "strawberries & cream IPA") and a beef stew in the InstantPot.

We had our InstantPot out the other day. Panamanian chicken soup (chicken and cassava with carrot and some cilantro for seasoning). Something we picked up when we toured the country several years ago.

I decided to come to a laundromat to wash the dogs blanket, the mat in the bathroom, and a couple hairy towels. It should have been done long ago. She's going to stay with friends in the park and I figured they'd rather not have the smelly hairy blanket. Boy, did it need a wash.

Mine has earned a perma spot on the counter, an honour previously earned only by coffee pot, stand mixer and food processor. The reason? Hummus. Take dried chickpeas to hummus-ready within an hour. And that king of tough meat - eye of the round - to melting stew perfection in a little over an hour.

You've mentioned that before. I really should give it a try. Hummus is one of my go-to dips.

We love our InstantPot. I found good tips from The Salted Pepper. She has some great recipes.

This is a great and simple recipe:

This is the hummus recipe I use

We love this too. I add paprika and probably more garlic than what's called for.
