Welcome to Wondercafe2!

A blankie sounds like something I would like to grab. I just used up all my spoons having a bit of a shower, so it is time to veg beside the Wonder fireplace.

Yummy food is healing too. I learned that my local hospital provides much better food than the hospital in the city. I seemed to be offered more empty calories t here than I would normally eat in a month.

I made pizza dough yesterday -- all set to have grandsons from Michigan visit and help put together a pizza. But...they both got the flu, so my husband and I are on our own, and the dough is in the freezer, hopefully for next weekend. There are so many bugs going around. Local grandson was very sick with a high fever that only got beat after a week, and by finally resorting to antibiotics. To curb my disappointment of a grandson-less day, I went for a long walk, and stopped at a store to load up on chocolate. I know how to deal with things!

Looks like they have better tea than we do.
East Asian teas are amazing. Much more variety than just green and black. I am fond of Japanese senchas (what they call green tea). Even India, while they mostly produce black teas, has an amazing variety of flavours. Darjeeling teas are different from Assam teas and different Assam teas are distinctly different from each other (I buy a different Assam variety each time I order and can tell the difference) and so on. The basic selection you get in most Western supermarkets doesn't even scratch the surface which is why I sink a fair bit of money into a local specialty tea store. Yes, I am a bit of a tea nerd.:coffee::nerd:

Good morning everyone. We do cover a wide range of topics here - fascinating sometimes.
Does anyone want to talk about Disability tax credits? A doctor suggested that I should apply for Disability and we find ourselves knowing NOTHING about the topic. What, if any, would be advantageous about this? Are there any negatives we should know about?
Disability tax credit is what the word says- a tax credit ( so you have to make enough money to actually pay taxes).
Different people can fill out the form for it. Your physician can fill it out for any medical condition, while an Occupational therapist orphysio therapist can fill it out for functional disabilities- like if your walking is affected or if you need help with feeding yourself or getting dressed. The assessor must be convinced that your disability will last at least a year and also has to note how long he/ she has known you. In that sense, if your disability has been a few years and they have known you for that time, it possible could be retroactive. It just gives you a larger credit on your income tax.
The assessor has to describe the circumstances of your disability, just walking with a cane is not enough, they have to say that you are walking significantly slower or are unable to walk a certain distance. Same with other functions. Cognitive disability counts as well, but has to be documented by a doctor.
Vision loss could be documented by an eye doc, but has to be a certain degree.
Different diseases are eligible.
Having the form filled out might cost you a fee ( ask your Dr’s office). As OT, we usually filled this out for free. Once you are approved, you will get it automatically on your income tax, as they consider it permanently ( unless the one who filled it out said it is temporary)

I went to church this morning. It was a nice service and also involved so good visiting before and after. They were having a visioning event after church. I couldn't attend because we are going to have dinner with my sister and I had some errands. The workshop was supposed to last the afternoon and was about family systems theory.....a significant part of my undergrad degree.

We're heading to a lovely lakeside restaurant to have dinner with my sister and another couple. It will be nice.

I got another milestone completed this weekend. Paperwork being dropped off tomorrow. Feels good. Now to figure out better way to ensure doesn't slide going forward

Appointment for my car tomorrow afternoon. (Another item that was queued).

Thanks for the info. One of the local docs suggested this - but we asked ages ago and our accountant seemed to think it is almost impossible to get. Maybe time to toss the forms to the doctor.

Good morning! Hope everyone is well! For teas from different parts of the world, disability tax credits, blankets, paperwork finished, and all the other stuff that comes to mind, we have a space to unload and unpack it. The Coffee Cart is open for the day, ready to host your conversations and form your community. Coffee is up, tea water is boiling, all is ready. Come on in and join in!
(I never noticed that we could use 'white' as a colour... won't use it too often as it doesn't show up too well)

Good morning. The rain is washing away the snow out there. We had a nice dinner with my sister, her husband and another couple last night. Good food and good discussions made for a great visit. And yes we still love her now that she's 64. :)

I know you pay for it, but got a video with voice explaining what is the matter with my car. I was able to listen/watch, but also share with my spouse and then his brother (a BMW fan and engineer)

Now to get the fix scheduled

Are emotions rational? Yet the stone Wahl 'd preaches on emotions and many accept it without thinking ... thus intelligence departs ...

Shadows are cast there ... eL'uv stain ... purple mark?

Good morning! Good morning. This room is lovely and cozy as always. I've brought a plate of cinnamon buns using a neighbour's delicious recipe. Of course they're virtual. I doubt I could pull them off in real life. They're delicious as a virtual treat because virtual is magic.

Good morning! For magnificent cinnamon buns, and fresh homemade bread (which is still nice and warm, btw) we give thanks. For these and other talents and treats, the Coffee Cart is here to sample, enjoy, share recipes, and otherwise chat and discuss. All is ready, all are welcome, come on in and join the fun!
