Hosting an early 90th birthday celebration for Mom tonight. Easy meal that is served buffet style and we don't have room for everyone to sit around the table so they wander to living room or basement as they wish. Or outside if it is nice. Hope it doesn't increase Mom's anxiety level, but we've had many such gettogethers, so hoping it feels familiar. She may stress about not remembering the grandkids or great grandkids. I made a non-typical birthday cake: a zucchini cake of course!

Hey Mendalla - hoping all is well with you after last night's severe storms in your area. Maybe Redbaron too had stormy weather?

We had a quite a light show going on before bed and definitely some rain but never seem to hit "severe" in terms of heavy rain and wind. Just glad it waited until after my vacation. :giggle:

Peach crop failure in Georgia may turn many against the peach head if they are sentient ... then perhap snot ... as peachiness goes with time!

Got some Ontario ones from the diminishing green belt ... and the powers thoughts about people of the dirt? Un cultivated psyches ... psychotic?

We had some hard rains off and on, a few 'weather statements' but no 'warnings.'. More than enough, though.

Good morning. I smell smoke in the air this morning. :( (we have a campfire ban here) Hubby is going on a hike this morning. I bowed out because it was rough the last time. Lots of trees that were across the trail so more scrambling than I'd like. And many were big trees. I'll stay here, make some hummus and maybe muffins. We'll probably connect for lunch or something.

Really? We had a warning out for most of last night. Guess you're far enough to be out of that area.

I demolished a box of Ontario peaches before we went away. Yum. One of my favourite non-citrus fruits along with Mac and Empire apples.

A couple of our adventures up in the Bruce had me scrambling over rocks a bit more than I like but it was fun. Fallen trees, though, can be a pain to get over. One of the local trails I use has a couple.

Makes excellent grunt ... a word from folklore ... capped with type of bread ... runs parallel to 's chintz elle as total ... the Nord's say schnitzel ...

Over which some can get themselves in a Schmitz ...

Yum. Love hummus. I even dip tortilla chips in it. *grabs crackers and starts dipping*

(Fear not, I won't double dip ;) :giggle: )

Looking forward to Freestone peaches, and peach pie making (only about two weeks a year...).

Really nice day today. Cleaning at Big Guy's this morning (our usual late week chore if I'm not working), then work, then I got taken out to supper. Japanese noodles, pork bone broth, omg.

Had a bit of a turnaround on Thursday. I let a very dear friend of mine come over and help me clean for a day. I have some hopes that I will get rid of a bunch of this junk eventually. I have a bit of a goal of a dumpster in late September. My friend's daughter (who lives next door), will probably share it with me. We sorta have an informal deal; she put some crap in my dumpster last December, I put some in hers last fall.

I've had a busy week. There's a little reno project on at the church, so I've been making lunch (sandwiches, side of chili/soup/etc.) for several workers plus hangers on every day. A bit hard on my budget and energy levels. The big guy certainly keeps me busy.

Oh, and NW, let's share hummus recipes. Are you a purist? Do you use canned beans or cook your own? Tahini or peanut butter? Toppings? Za'atar, black olive tapenade, *sigh*

With homemade pita chips or Mary's crackers.

Good morning! Happy Saturday! For milestone birthdays, scrambling over trees, hummus and peaches and cleaning, for all the other 'stuff' that comes up, we gather round the Coffee Cart to chat, support, and drink hot beverages. Come on in and join us!

Not how you want your wedding day to shake out. Good vibes to you and the rest of the family, especially your niece.
