In our discussion group where we bounce ide - A's about on philosophy (despised love of knowledge and wisdom) our focus turned to questionable psychopathy. Are such feelings spontaneous in the essence of brain?

One member thought that psychopaths should not be killed but placed in boxes for confined observation ... an idea that may allow for that restrained sense and also the opposite as sense of gnawing its way out ... so the nar ration goes as an Irish myth!

Not much that presented to us appears real ... consider the state of governing, CEO's and BS in the populace's zone ... it falls short of socialistic idealism of everything working together ... always someone trying to top out ...

Jealous about seeing Hamilton. I heard a very young girl sing a difficult song from it a few years ago. (Don't ask which one.) It was at a fundraiser event and the organizer hadn't listened to her ahead of time but had been told she was good. Wow is all I can say. She was 13 and sang like a total professional.

Wearing a knee brace today...I still walked to Mom's to help her with her exercises so over 5000 steps as recorded by my cell phone. Mom is having a bad day...was very upset that she didn't remember what day of the week it is. She got her pills all messed up too. In an hour I bring her for a Nurse Practitioner appointment which always stresses her a little because she works so hard to remember it but asks many times, and then says...I don't know why I'm going, and I've never met her before. I try to encourage her to trust me, I'll remember to get her there on time.
Hey @Nancy - there are clocks like this (this photo from Amazon) which can be quite helpful to people with memory issues; in addition to what shows in the photo, it can be set up with reminder chime & printed message to take medications. Such a distressing challenge for people. Of course findng the right place to put the clock so it will be noticed can also be a challenge if dementia has progressed significantly. My Dad, who also lives alone, is having issues as well. Difficult times.

Thanks Carolla....this might just do the trick. Part of our problem is not realizing how quickly Mom is declining. She doesn't take many prescriptions but is a vitamin junkie. She has always sorted them out for the week, with the intent of taking a different selection four times a day. She also has one prescription med in the morning, and one in the evening. The last few days, when I check what she has taken (remember...I don't live with her), I discover she has forgotten to take some or, like today, taken a double dose. I'm going to look into this clock idea and see if it will work. When I've suggested a few other helpful devices, the answer is usually no. But maybe I won't ask...

There are also automatic med dispensers like this one
Amazon.ca

Here, there is one company which has personal alarm systems ( fall alert buttons) which also rents out these dispensers for an additional fee. Of course, someone else will have to fill the dispenser.
I had patients who were able to continue living at home and using the dispenser, but it is hard to say, as the use of it will mean new learning which might or might not be possible.

You can get pharmacy meds put together into blister packs to make sure you're taking daily meds. I don't think they'll add your supplements, though.

I used to just make up Mom's medication package (those plastic things you can buy with 4 times and 7 days) for her every week, so we always knew where she was.

And agree with you, P3, that it's hard, but after the fact, I take a great deal of comfort in the fact that I did as much for them as I possibly could have, difficult though it often was.

Good morning! The coffee's on, the tea water is boiling, come on in and help yourselves. As we chat about, among other things, family members with memory issues, and clocks, buzzers, pill organizers and blister packs to assist them, about Hamilton, and all the other topics that arise, may us find support and community here. All is ready. Come join us.

I noticed something yesterday. Usually, I don’t think about numbers greater than millions, but then There was the news about “the ring of fire” being worth trillions. So my colleague and I had to look up how much trillions actually are( still can’t wrap my head around it, though). That made me think why it is called “trillion”- since it isn’t three times a million..?
So I looked up the word for those numbers in German, and here is even more confusion:

English word. German word
one million. Eine million. 1 000 000
one billion. Eine Milliarde. 1 000 000 000
one trillion. Eine Billion. 1 000 000 000 000
one quadrillion. Eine Billiarde. 1 000 000 000 000 000

so , who can explain why in english, they go with one, two, three ,four? And why is a billion in english smaller than eine Billion in German?

Good morning, Red, thanks for the coffee. Freezing rain on the program for NS. Paddy’s party at my son’s house tonight ( delayed because of shiftwork)

Just to confuse the alternate folk ... human fate as they fear these things ...

Big article on Japan and Oriental collapsing populaces on the news!

We either go to one extreme or the alternate ... indicating our lack of stability. Should we all be part of one side or the other and change from time to time?

On top of that weather forecasting is severely disruptive ...

I read somewhere that word is like God, or God is the word ... then I also came across that there are over 600,000 words, syllables and icons that make up world linguistics. If we only gather 250 or so of these signs ... is a lot left still out there ... totally un grasped?

Some would say that is a sod of a situation. Then what's a sod in varies bread making modes? Expect flowers and dusts ... as the blossom degrades ... there be seed for another daze ... this the point of the dream when you've observed the corruption of high positions ... what settles?

That also is questionable ... stranger idea Lise-M? Is the something in the facials as professed? Dante proposed miscuing ... and masks! Off tract musing ... alien texts?

Expect someone to counter it as they sense they are part of the fixed rites of pas Sages ... spice in the arid places?

For blister packs, one still need to know what day it is and what time of the day. When that gets lost, they are only good to tell others that the meds haven’t been taken properly.
Agree. My parents both had blister packs for their meds and they were less helpful than I expected them to be.

Such numbers seem beyond my imagination too - I kind of relegate them to "Oooo - that's big, that's super big, that even bigger!"
Three time a million would be three million tho, not a trillion. It's the # of zeros added that shift it from mill to bill to trill etc - so you'd first get to 999 million - then moving on to one trillion once all the subsequent 000s in the string became 9s. :ROFLMAO: Haha - I'm sure that's probably not any clearer!!
