I bring a funny story to the room. My sister went on a cruise, and was enjoying wading in the water at one of the stops. The water was quite shallow but suddenly some waves started happening. At one point, she turned towards the waves and...too late...got shaken up (like a washing machine she said) by a rogue giant wave. She just about lost her bathing suit, but DID lose her expensive new glasses.

Two days ago we went to the optician so she could get her old glasses fixed up enough to last until her optometrist appointment at the end of March. I went with her so that I could get my glasses tightened. My glasses were taken off to be fixed, and then I started chatting pleasantly with the individual who I thought had my glasses. Nope...chatting with a complete stranger who didn't have any idea what I was talking about! My sister caught on when she said: Nancy, do you think you are talking to the person who is tightening your glasses? Oops. They both had blond hair. I'm at a complete loss without my glasses, it would seem. But my sister and I got a good laugh out of it all.

We had 38 cm of snow. I got quite an out-pour of endorphins after snow blowing my driveway and the ones of four other neighbours. One neighbour was shovelling and I asked him if he wanted some help ( he is retired, so not the youngest anymore). He said no, he is enjoying it. So I didn’t and did his neighbours, who is in his twenties and was happy for the help. The older one moved here from Ontario- so I wondered if he assumed that I wanted money for it.

Good morning. We were able to enjoy some sunshine yesterday with a walk and time around a fire with friends. My hair still smells like smoke. Our friends got a new pup last week so I also got to meet him. He's a cute Aussie shepherd cross. A friend is going to try to fly out of Hamilton again today. She was grounded by a snow storm last time. The current weather forecast there is a worry.
You just reminded me that I love it when my hair takes on the smell of outdoors and bonfire smoke. I miss having fires since I moved from the country.

It's not often we see "100% Blizzard" as the designation on the weather network hourly forecast! We're apparently having two - one this evening, and another overnight  Looks like my mate will get to use his snow blower again this season - he was recently lamenting the lack of snow!! No worries for me - I'm stocked up on 'storm yarn' for a new project, and 'storm chips' in case additional sustenance is needed! But I sure do have an extra layer of worry about the homeless folks I know around here when such weather rolls in. Lifting extra prayers for their protection.

My late father-in-law had a snowblower for his driveway. It still seemed like a lot of work to me.

I think it is still a certain amount of work for sure - and very snowy depending on how the wind is blowing. His is a pretty big one, self propelled but still needs guidance & adjusting. It's very helpful when the snow is heavy & for clearing the windrow left by the plow. (why is that called a 'windrow'?) I just watch out the window or from where I'm shoveling the stairs :-)

It's a nice day here, think it hit to above 0. Was just under 0 until late morning so wasn't super wet or mucky from thaw while I was out for treatment.

Us too - kinda beautiful to see lightning with all around being white - so intense. Snow is very wet (actual temp is about 0), heavily clinging to all the branches; high wind so the trees are really rocking. Hopefully they all stay upright through the night.

Good morning, all! We indeed have snow. Seems to have stopped for the moment, but more than enough to deal with. Anyway, as some have snow, others have campfires, still others have snow blowers to deal with. Such winter fun! Anyway, for these topics, lost glasses, even thunder snows, and others, the Coffee Cart is up and running. Come take a break from digging out cars, cleaning sidewalks, etc. and enjoy the company.
