It's an interesting thing to contemplate.

It is very strange how different scalps are, when uncovered. I would hate to see mine; between the chronic eczema and the assorted bumps, and the very bigness of the missing hair (I have crazy hair - thick and curly and dark ginger and with less than 5% grey even now), I think it would look very small and lumpy and messy.

Someone got lucky
Not really. Ontario is pretty geologically stable. 3-4 is about as bad as we ever get. If you're going to get a natural disaster in Ontario, it is going to be weather related (specifically tornadoes, which are getting frighteningly common around here) rather than geological.

Good morning! As we think of those struck by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, as they comb through the ruins looking for survivors; as we think of shaved heads, because of cancer, or some other reason; as we find any number of other topics awaiting out attention, let us gather round the Coffee Cart, where hot beverages are ready ,and where various goodies are available. Come on by and join in.

It is said to keep your ear to the dirt as there may be shaking ... could be the scribe circulating mire ... metaphorically in that strange pho rest ... a R.I.P. Eire ... thus torn apart ... quantum effect ... by chance! Do the statistics and discover the void between the data and what you wished --- endogeneity! I spoken of those before and been dis regarded ... un observed?

Blind fate appears ... didn't see ide coming? Anon ...

Sunny and chilly here. I used to think the Ottawa Valley was created by glaciers. Now I realize it results from being between two plates explaining why the Laurentians have a big gap from Ottawa to Montreal and a much smaller gap from Pembroke north.

Gaps and voids all over ... and then we look up and contemplate falling in ... and then thoughts depart as contemptable ... as th' unque ... really dense and thick! Intelligence is tough ... some gets around if by screwy means ... thus imposing numbing situations ... Sunday mourning icon ... a love scar? Thor was a good time as Palling lisps ... ineffable or unspeakable? Thus it wasn't as fear of screw overs ...

Not that way

In the Harry met Sally particular scene way

(And yay! For hard rock. Makes sense the Movers and Shakers -- see what I did there? -- of Canada are located on Canadian Shield. Good healthy old rock, to quote Balinson)

Yeah, sometimes Ontario quakes are centred up there. The one Carolla was talking about was near Buffalo. Not sure what's up with that. I thought the fault that usually caused them down here was in the Ohio Valley, not upstate New York. Need to do some reading.

Stay away from the Maritimes or you may encounter a sinking wetted sensation as the zee arises ... to the e ryes ... naked waters ...
But I like the Maritimes. Almost lived there, even (wife taught at Dal for two years in the nineties).

And good thing we still have Earthquakes
Start worrying if we stop having Earthquakes -- something will be horribly wrong GADZOOKS
I forget whether the Earth will become geologically inactive before the Sun swallows it in 4 billion or so years, but it definitely will be after that. Of course, that will be because the planet no longer exists. Nor will we for that matter (most likely, no species in the history of the Earth has lasted anywhere near that long).

Good morning! From earthquakes to tectonic plates, Buffalo to Amazon echo, and anything in between, the conversations continue. Let us gather in spirit round the Coffee Cart, where hot beverages await. Come on in.
