Hey folks - we're in 'room for all' - so I'm just going to express my sadness for Kay's grand-dude & family in their current lousy housing situation. It's a great worry for many people of all ages and I don't know how it will resolve, given our current social malaise and polarization - perhaps that's a different thread.

And I will say - It's SEPTEMBER!! Wow!! The CNE airshow will be on this weekend (minus the Snowbirds) - we usually have many passes over our house, so it's interesting to be outside & see what comes by. And then its back to school next week for all the students!

Today has been a glorious day weather-wise in my neighbourhood. My friend who has been out of circulation for a couple of weeks due to COVID came by for tea on the porch - it was lovely! Had to even put on a shawl as the breeze was a bit cool & we were in the shade. Amazing to say that after all the extreme heat and humidity this summer. How's your day going?

Oh wow, thanks for pointing that out about being in room for all...I actually thought it was a different thread!

It has been cold to chilly here in Eastern Ontario. 17 when we did some shopping this afternoon. Cooler this morning when I was getting some camping stuff ready. Wore a tee shirt, warm shirt, and light jacket this morning to work outside along with gloves. Getting the bacon ready to go on our bacon topped macaroni for supper when our daughter and her family arrive. I finish my 75th year tomorrow.

I'm sitting here, wearing a sweater for the first time in a very long time! Windows are wide open & it's Thursday - so in my neighbourhood that means it's the last Thursday of the 'Classic Car' weekly events on Lakeshore and there's a great band playing at the end of my street. I'm reallly enjoying the music tonight - I can't say that's true for every Thurs! We didn't go look at the cars tonight, but we often do - lots of collectors bring their amazing vehicles for all of us admire. Thursday is also Harley night at Back Roads Coffee Roaster at the other end of our street - which means a fair size gathering (maybe 50 - 75?) of bikers which is also pretty interesting. We don't notice much as they arrive in dribs & drabs, but when they all leave around 9:30 - wow, the street is filled with 'music' of a different type! Harley's have such a distinctive sound, that's for sure. It's all good. And dark so much earlier now - are you noticing that too?

I think we are still under a heat warning? Not sure. Today is cooler, but it's a one day break in between fairly hot days.

Ooh it got quite cold in central Ontario last night. When I got up it was only 12 degrees, and there was a clear fall nip in the air. Dog was very happy. I like leaving the back door open to the outside temperature as long as I can and just adding a duvet.

I went to a friends retirement party - in a tap room. Very small, crowded, finger food, no mask and noisy so that one had to put one’s ear next to the others mouth to hear. If any person in that room would have had covid, I got it. One person was speaking “ moistly” into my face, uurgh.
I am grand-dog sitting and bunny sitting while junior and fiance are spending the long weekend in Cape Breton. She has never been to Cape Breton! Dog is settling down in my living room right now, but my, he makes a lot pf noises. Not used to that from being a cat owner. He is japping and snoring and whining. And of course barking. He peed at every bush I have in my yard. We will be spending the weekend in my yard, as he is too old to go for longer walks. If I can get him into the car, maybe we can go for drives.
I just hope he isn’t expecting to sleep in my bed. I don’t think I can deal with the snoring.

Nights are definitely cooling down, kids when to school in big hoodies and shorts. But we're still getting up into the 30s for the afternoons although today wasn't hot.

We had a lovely visit with friends today. The guys went to play a game of golf and the ladies went for a seaside walk. Dog was not impressed that we had no ball to throw and that the rocks we tried to throw for her didn't go far. After our walk we had a visit to a local coffee shop for coffee then returned home for a crafting visit. It was lovely.

Sadly the pictures I took didn't shrink well. :(

Good morning, all! Welcome to Friday! As we chat about affordable housing, air fried tomatoes, and visits and activities of various sorts, let us pause round the coffee cart for hot beverages of all kinds. Everything is ready, help yourself.

Made 'sundried' cherry tomatoes in the airfryer - yum.
We are figuring out the airfryer, Chemguy got it from work.
I don't think they were all done but it didn't really matter they were all eaten.
Didn't realize you could do stuff like that in an airfryer. Cool.

They definitely seem a bit roasted, although I have lower temperature settings I could try, not sure if it's an airfryer function at that point. The same recipe gave normal oven instructions took, but it's about 3 hours. I may try just a normal roasting recipe next, as it would be faster.

Looked at the forecast for this weekend. Yikes!
36C tomorrow, overnight low 11. Even the hottest days in summer we don't always get up that high. Really unusual for Sept and that temperature swing is not going to feel great. As it is with the highs being low 30s today I am feeling off - not just the heat it's the temperature change.

I had a weird thing happening yesterday. I got a call from someone saying she is the daughter of a friend of mine who passed away suddenly 4 years ago. Supposedly, she was born out of wedlock and my friends mother made her give the baby up for adoption and scared away the boyfriend/ father. I never knew she has had a baby- my friend was like the Canadian grandmother to my son, she never had children after that. It is so tragic that her daughter couldn’t find out her mothers name until just now ( I believe the NS law changed this year to give adoptees the right to the name without the need for the parents consent). All the missed opportunities to turn lives around for the better. The daughter said, her adoptive parents were abusive and she didn’t have a good childhood. She now wanted to get in touch to find memories. So thinking about the thread of “ best advice”- should one say “ don’t wait” or “ everything has it’s time”?

And don't dash into the unknown without knowledge and levity that you could be wrong ... mistakes are the stuff of mental exchange a learning as a pain ... otherwise a painful past as Dark Eras ... it was a time under the dash board Lights ... seeing St Ella may resolve that motive to break out too quick ... aux vital?

Good morning, all! Happy Labour Day Weekend. The coffee cart is up and running. To sing the praises of air fryers (I'm still resisting the temptation to buy one), to ponder things that happen, like phone calls from friends' kids, (words of wisdom welcome) to discuss (but of course) weather, we're here for it. Come on in.

What do we have off that wasn't off track yesterday due to industrial diversions like explosions at refineries indicating that someone was into something they shouldn't have been in the condition encountered ...

Are humans just too industrially busy with economics and blind to keeping other folks in the same shadowy existence ... unseeing? It is said the inflation rate is going to get another boost with more interest in things that should be dropped as subtle aeras ... simple Eris blown ... all gone into the abstract ... said to be an aera of psyche that absolute form people say does not exist so that cluster of thought went quickly ... imagine fictional fantasy of friction between what is and what was predisposed as out there ... therein the tho'Tæ ... still toddling! That' spore popping up as after or post due ... idle come along with difficulty as life is hard although the options indicate the left as disgust to the rights ... they want all life to themselves ... thus disturbing spirits as emotions bottled up ... OHM ai!

Yet thinking me are still a pain to those determined not to do that and thus in determinate states of edification ... and monuments constructs of nonsense ... it all comes down to the ass ... an'nd? A peculiar carrier underneath the field of view from AD (old word for up there). No matter what the hind goes on as what follows is post humus ... we are not allow sight of it until you are going and then one bends to kiss it off ... donkey jousting? Isn't there poetry about that and rhythm ... rye them is ... bare sol'n the end because the physical is disconnected ... empty gest ure?

Word is said to be like that ... no end to the entanglement ... given the context ... piles and heaps more!

Good morning. The heat warnings have been lifted. It promises to be about 21 or 22 today. We had a nice visit with my aunt and uncle yesterday. I had bloodwork done before the visit. The tech was amazing. She had to move the needle and did it without causing pain. Plus, there's no bruise today. Pretty awesome.

On the subject of air fryers. We have a Ninja two drawer air fryer. We love it. Now when we have bacon and eggs we have potatoes because potatoes cook up wonderfully in it. Yum.
