Actually, the newer ones are supposed to be quite good. App support is lacking compared to iPhone and Android, but they are catching up. They just haven't reached critical mass yet, where all major cross-platform app developers are porting to WinPho.

I feel like giving you a pop quiz on Jae. Is he Catholic, Baptist, or Mormon?

Baptist. Fellowship Baptist to be precise.

And I would not turn one down, to be honest, though I'm likely going to be packing Android (Galaxy) down the road.

I don't think so but I've also never tried. You'll have to store them somewhere (I assume Apple has a photo storage and sharing service similar to Google's Picasa) and then use the sharing option to get a link to put into the photo embedding box anyhow. We don't have photo storage here yet.
in my spring has riz thread i was able to drag n drop a picture from my computer directly into a post (the one with the poor budgie) -- i find that handy

Fear is not the correct word, Pinga, and I wonder why you chose to use it. The issue is concern Pinga, not fear.

She chose to write that word--you 'know' Pinga -- as opposed to treating getting information on people by opening a book and going 'Here's Jae', she engages in a conversation with the person to get to know them better? Walk in another person's shoes. Etc etc etc.

You are writing that you have enough concern that you are attending a protest.

Some people are just asking you why without needing to trap you or win.

'sharing in the common human experience' and all that zydeco

(tho there prolly might be some here who will fling upset at you--but you seem to have a good handle on laughter now to treat it is what it is, you trickster, you)

I'm not sure that is actually part of the curriculum. Despite what those with concerns allege.
i was more thinking of the protestors doing the deed
as a kind of EXORCISM of teh evul
(sympathetic magick & all that j)

which reminds me, i just saw a bit of a past docu on the history of horror movies ("Clive Barker's A to Z of Horror"), talking with Mercedes McCambridge, the catholic woman who did the voice for the possessing entity in The Exorcist...she's a HOOT & the things she did and asked to be put into to get into character for just a voice...

Alas , I feel I was too late to attend the protest. Got there at 3:57pm, and saw no protest taking place.

this brings up where do kids really learn their values, personality, character from

i remember reading a discussion aboot this in steven pinker's book The Blank Slate

if it comes mainly from parenting, one would expect a parent's children to be more or less the same

but it turns out that is not so

it seems that kids are learning their values, character, personality from their peers, & there is a genetic component (when twins are studied that are adopted to different families, they have similar personalities) which is problematic for concerned people because how do you deal with (control/guide) peers?

good & deep book with lots o footnotes

I arrived at Queens Park subway station at around 10:30am. After work, which I stopped at about 3:45pm, I headed for the legislative building, but I was too late. Ah well, there will perhaps be other protests to attend about this.

Campaign Life Coalition web site stated that it was going to start at 11 and end at 2.

CP24 estimates a crowd of 200 was present.

Ottawa Citizen carried this pic:

Is this something the protester is requesting?

Between animals or with animals? I'm not sure.

We always spay or neuter our pets.

I'm ashamed that we haven't discussed canine stds. I should be a more responsible pet owner but when they tilt their head to the side and wrinkle up their head I'm not confident they are getting the gist of condoms and dental dams and the like. I've suggested they talk to the vet and I've been willing to leave the examining room while they do that but they get agitated and conversation goes nowhere.

We haven't given them smart phones so I don't worry about sexting.

I was thinking that too pinga. I get people being concerned about young kids perhaps learning things too soon. And i have concerns about how skilled the teachers might be dealing with sensitive issues.

But at grade 10? A 15 year old? They know everything from friends, the internet, twitter........,

Learning about consent, sexting, on line predators..... Vital
I have issues with the way it was handled when I was in grade 11. Not so much about information (that was in the younger grades, when accuracy was a problem), but rather the manner in which things were taught and opinions treated.

What is radical sex ... or education thereof in folk that don't believe in the process of knowing right from wrong? Could this be a forerunner to chaos theory in extensive realms ... out there? Perhaps there are thoughts out there?

The Toronto Star found a real gem at the protest today:

A Toronto mother at the demonstration blamed Wynne for the changes.

“She’s a dictator. She’s forcing her lifestyle down our children’s throats,” said Iola Fortino, who described herself as a staunch Catholic.

“We’re going to have little minions, little lesbian and homosexual minions . . . it’s grooming children for sex . . . grooming them to change their identity to become homosexuals,” said Fortino.
