It is hard to touch the 'like' when tears are filling my eyes.
Crazyheart got so much joy from the little things in life. I really hoped when she took on the Secret Santa project for 2018 that she was recovering and would be with us a little longer. Sarah, you probably sensed that this was not to be. It must've broken your heart. But even in her hospital bed Crazyheart's spirit shows through and she is enjoying her gift.

Kay you made a nice choice in your gift for her.

It sure makes you think extra carefully about the reaction one's gift might bring. A look of delight, a lovely smile.

I ended up doing the secret santa with/for her because it was a little hard for her. She just went through so much at the end. She had 2 surgeries, a pacemaker, caught an infection while in hospital( cdif) and before that just beat lung and breast cancer.... my grandpas passing. She was so tough and went threw so much in the last 6 years. I just wish me , my family, my girls, and you guys got just a bit more time.

But I do have to say she went through it all being as positive as possible. And her eyes still lit up every time I saw her.

I think that she lost him twice, maybe even thrice. Once as he was experiencing dementia, once as he moved to the long-term care facility, and once when he died.

I think all three were hard. She taught us, as well.

Chemguy finished putting together an over the toilet storage thing. The lack of storage/shelving due to the pedestal sink has bothered me for a while. Even something like a bottle of sunscreen seems to clutter the sink with the soap there. Kleenex & extra toilet paper just went on top of the not-totally flat toilet tank. Dunno why we never bothered to get one, just too lazy to keep an eye out for sales I guess. Was looking for something else, came across a bunch of these being on sale.
So sort of like a Christmas present to us :)

I thought I would open my Secret Santa gift after dinner, but may as well do all the presents together.

@Tabitha gave me a puzzle - a plate of assorted Christmas cookies that look really tasty! It also has multiple sized pieces, so is good for accommodating different age ranges. I even got a secondary envelop - for a stray piece and a Christmas card. For now it will be Chemguy who can work on the large pieces (he's not really a puzzle guy) but this is one I will be holding onto to include my nephews too. The youngest seems to have an insatiable appetite for both edible and non-edible items. I had a good laugh watching my Mom panic when he was colouring plus snapping off all the tips of the crayons in his mouth as she attempted to grab all the crayons away from him before I came over and calmly helped. So at least a year before the puzzles other then the wood ones when they are around!

Thanks Tabitha! It will get lots of use - will set it up upstairs this year and I know my Mom will appreciate having a Christmas puzzle out too while they are here.

LOL The puzzle was very gently used by us when my dad and mom visited. And yes right after sending it I found a piece under the chair! So had to send that along. Hope the tea hits the spot as well!

Oops, was going to wait to clear the table before opening the box. Haha.
Tabitha made me a lovely Christmas apron, really nice you can't find anything like that with stores complete with my name!
Also an assortment of teas plus a little tea pouch for taking some to go. I love that, much nicer than just tossing them into a little baggie in my purse, which I then have to dig for. It's small enough/flat to fit in nicely, but large enough were it won't slip to the bottom with all the non-working pens.

Sorry to spoil the surprise.. I was having a hard time finding a box to fit puzzle and tea due to the shapes-then I had an ephiany. Put the tea stuff and apron in the puzzle box!

I thought I might still be missing the original card/note or something, as otherwise I would just have to go off the address. I had a pair of scissors upstairs though, so I figured it could wait for me to clear the coffee table off.
I didn't realize puzzles often had that much extra space for stuff though! Good job on getting that all in there!

Hi, everyone!
So sorry to hear about Crazyheart.
After a bad episode of anxiety, I'm back here.
@Mrs.Anteater was my Secret Santa and sent me:
1. Only Cod Knows, a book that seems to be amazing - I'm starting it as soon as I finish the one I'm reading now.
2. Delicious chocolate truffles that were very much appreciated by me but especially by Mrs.Z
3. Beautiful Christmas card featuring a Maritime landmark
4. Algae native from Nova Scotia and that remember me of the sea everytime I smell them
5. Lovely seeds from her garden
6. What I judge to be a beautiful fishing bite

Thank you very much, @Mrs.Anteater ! I loved everything!

I also gave in to temptation and opened mine tonight (my excuse is I'm traveling tomorrow) and found a wonderful selection of Brazilian goodies (cheese rolls and sweets and such) and a Starbucks card from GiancarloZ. Thanks, GiancarloZ! It all looks good! Merry Christmas, a blessed New Year to you and yours!
Happy New Year, @Redbaron !
I hope you have appreciated the Brazilian stuff and had a Merry Christmas!

#1 sounds suggestive of Nous found domain ... some wouldn't like altered thinking as disorderly ... rev.John should affiliate ...

It’s a book I found on my travel to PEI by an PEI author, and the “ Only Cod knows” title made me think i mediately that I need to participate with this for the first time at Secret Santa WC2.

Titles and labels can be so deep in understanding ... not a blind situation!

Reading through this list of gifts without noticing who had sent them I had my suspicions from the title of the first book Only God Knows. These were confirmed by the time I hit four the algae. I bet it was dulse. It takes a Maritimer to appreciate some good dulse enough to consider it as a gift. I was right; it was MrsAnteater. You send a gift basket that I would enjoy receiving. I'm sure it would was appreciated.
