German news just announced that vaccines are only good to protect for 6 months. So, I would need a refresher in August. I doubt they are done vaccinating everyone the second time by then.

What was their source? The drug companies? Peer-reviewed study? I know it's a question some have been researching but the news isn't my preferred source for science.
 
Seems like a rather large blanket statement. I would want to see more info. Big difference between 1 dose of J&J vs 2 doses of Moderna or Pfizer, for example.
 
I hope it"s true that we won't need it every year....although I do wonder if vaccines are inferior to actual exposure to Covid in an asymptomatic person, that might create a continuous dependency on vaccines vs. against actually having had Covid.....sort of like the measles
I did think it would have been wise to advise to test for antibodies present before getting a vaccine, and for those in LTCs that were exposed to covid and actually had it, to have been checked for antibodies also. But the urgency didnt seem to allow for that.

It was a radio announcement I had heard, looking at the written news, they are still debating it.

Just wondering, does the flu shot today contains the H1N1 shot as well? I thought they had combined it, but not sure

I think so but haven't actually checked in a while.

Not sure what was in 2020s, but H1N1 strains have been covered in them before. It's not as simple as 'the H1N1'.

Wow, if this isn't just noise in the testing, it was fast, AB is under 1000 new cases, seems like a very fast decline with the restrictions, much faster than what happened before.

Ontario's three phase re-opening plan dropped today, along with the announcement that outdoor recreational activities (which our health officials didn't actually want shut in the first place) are re-opening.


There are provisional dates for the phases but actually implementation is dependent on vaccinations and various pandemic measures (positivity rate, hospitalizations, etc.) so the dates could change.

I'm a little worried about summertime, of course I like the idea of less restrictions during this time but it also gives off a false sense of security that warm weather and vaccinations may provide. I think we're pretty much aware that the 3 feet rule no longer applies and this virus can transmit at greater lengths than previously thought.....so personally I wish people would include self monitoring as part of the situation and include added precautions to whatever the gov't tells us.....I think everyone should consider part of this plan also caters to large businesses that allows for risk of death to some in the population within their profit margins. Keep on being safe as we enjoy our increased freedom.
