I guess closing provincial parks might be to eliminate the temptation to go camping. It would be difficult to patrol & kick people out if in contravention of no-camping kind of restrictions. Easier to just lock the gates. Sad though.

Our local 'destination parks' have all had their parking areas, playgrounds, beaches closed off - they do tend to be very busy places most of the time. It's still okay to wander through, walk most of the trails etc. In Toronto (and here too I think) it's prohibited to use any park benches or picnic tables - fines of $750 - $1,000 being issued. Seems odd to me that even a solitary person cannot sit on a bench for a rest during a walk.

It would be very easy in many places to make Park trails one way.
Yes and no, what happens when someone is injured, kids end up too tired, etc. less than halfway?
There was a discussion about making the busy walking street in my neighbourhood - the one that gets over 1000 kids at Halloween -1 way, and the opposite direction on the other side. Ie. Everyone on the north side walks west, everyone on the south side walks east. It was brought up though that some people have their kids biking up and down, they don't want them crossing the street. There's also the issue that one side was icy/full of puddles now.

And now a former co-worker had an elevated temperature at work and is now in isolation for ten days. My former workplace is a petri dish so I'm surprised if this is the first. They've taken excellent measures to make it safer.

There's a great big half dome shaped climbing apparatus in one of the playgrounds I passed on the weekend - with yellow tape wrapped around and hanging down loosely all over it. "The Second Coming of the Spaghetti Monster", came to mind after I passed. I was going to go by the next day and get a photo, and title it that, but I forgot. :giggle:

I had coffee with someone yesterday. We got coffee from a drive-thru and went to a park down the street. We sat on benches facing each other, 6 ft - 8 ft apart. There was no tape, and there were no covid related signs at this park. I think it's different according to municipality and I live on the cusp of two different ones.

They got the coffee and met me down the street - but I have been through a drivethrough on my scooter and had a few chuckles/ thumbs up. One from a tattood tough looking guy in a big black truck turning in behind me. He held out a thumbs up and said, "That works!" I thought it was pretty funny.

Recall that whatever protocols are struck the chosen powers will determine they are above corruption and do things contrary to protocol and blame it on something else eh? Always a contrived reason ... if all can be justified! What a quandary for those without respect for all things, everything but God that they personally control ... or so they thought until it come down on them hard ... neigh MS? Rendered to nemesis by some ... look out for her ... she may appear as Ta*marah ... it be a head onus ... indescribable!

Maybe you're right.

They are recommending that those over 80 and those between 60-80 with preexisting conditions not be admitted to icu.

Sweden has been a proponent of MAID for those populations for a long time.

And who at 60 doesn't have a preexisting condition? I would think that's a large majority of 60+ not being able to get into ICU. And again, not just due to COVID.

Saw this great little science based video today on the Our World in Data website (also a very interesting site!) I do truly appreciate those who can translate complex information into language & graphics we can better understand.
