Now halfway. Still enjoying it after kind of bouncing off episode 3 a couple times (probably more me than it). Now Nadia (main protagonist) has met another character going through the same thing (dying and then reappearing at the same moment). And there's some weird connections between Nadia and this new one. Like a guy she hooked up with before her first death was also having an affair with the new guy's girlfriend. It is becoming increasing apparent that relationships have something with this whole dying and coming back thing, too. I am a little worried that this is going to end up with the two "dying people" hooking up because she is just so wrong for him (and vice versa). I am also wondering just how it will end given that a second season has been greenlit and starts shooting next month. If they resolve her situation in season 1, what do they do in season 2?2 episodes into Russian Doll. It's billed as a comedy but it's not a traditional sitcom. No laugh track and shot more like a movie. Only 8 episodes but a second season has been greenlit. I am quite enjoying it but it is a bit weird (the plot is about a woman stuck in a time loop where she keeps dying and popping back to her 36th birthday party) and the lead character isn't the most sympathetic character around. She's pretty foul-mouthed and a pretty heavy smoker, drinker, and drug-user. In fact, at this point, she's thinking the drugs are what are causing her to experience the time loop (i.e. it's a hallucination).
Yeah, there's two ways to do spoilers now.We used to have a spoiler button

type [x] before and [/x] at the end of the spoiler
replace x with SPOILER
I know I'm late to this particular party, but I LOVED "The Queen's Gambit". I almost stopped watching it after about episode 4, because I couldn't handle her downward spiral. But my sister assured me that the ending was worth it, and it was.
My step brother and sil remind me of them in several ways. They're on the grid, but there are similarities.I watched two movies on Netflix that I'd not heard of before last week.
The first one was Captain Fantastic about a family that lives off the grid in the wild and how they survived but then have to step back into the material world when the mother commiits suicide and they have to attend the funeral.
The father in the movie was nominated for an academy award.
It certainly brings up some interesting questions about this lifestyle....the pros and cons.

I have also been watching Knowledge tv out of British Columbia. There are a few detective shows on there that I enjoy. Besides that, Shaw on-demand has allowed me to catch up on a few favourites. This recuperating business has made me watch a lot of tv and read a lot of books!
It was great, but I wouldn't trust the Netflix ratings as markings of a good show - Tiger King was up there too, which I did find entertaining but I wouldn't say good.I loved The Queens Gambit too....I think its rated as one of Netflix top shows.

That's true, but I was surprised it even beat the Crown for #1It was great, but I wouldn't trust the Netflix ratings as markings of a good show - Tiger King was up there too, which I did find entertaining but I wouldn't say good.
