Now halfway. Still enjoying it after kind of bouncing off episode 3 a couple times (probably more me than it). Now Nadia (main protagonist) has met another character going through the same thing (dying and then reappearing at the same moment). And there's some weird connections between Nadia and this new one. Like a guy she hooked up with before her first death was also having an affair with the new guy's girlfriend. It is becoming increasing apparent that relationships have something with this whole dying and coming back thing, too. I am a little worried that this is going to end up with the two "dying people" hooking up because she is just so wrong for him (and vice versa). I am also wondering just how it will end given that a second season has been greenlit and starts shooting next month. If they resolve her situation in season 1, what do they do in season 2?

Yeah, there's two ways to do spoilers now.
Inline (what I did in my post) allows you to block text in the middle of an otherwise visible chunk of text. It is this button:
. To use the button, just highlight the block of text, then click the button.So this: Hey, did you see The Empire Strikes Back? There's this great moment at the climax where Vader says, "Luke, I am your father."
The old style spoiler that only does a whole block, (like Chemgal's) is this button:
. Again, highlight the block of text to hide and then click the button.Vader said, "Luke, I am your father."
To reveal what is hidden by either, just click on it.

I just watched “Murder Among the Mormons” - I don’t want to spoil it. It‘s astonishing. It’s so well documented (it’s a documentary), with tons of footage - I’m surprised I never heard anything about it until now. I was pretty young back then, but it seems like the sort of thing that might subsequently come up from time to time when mentioning historical documents and techniques used to date documents, document authenticity of early Americana, and Mormon controversy. It’s never come up! It’s Dan Brown novel level scandal, almost, though.
I felt similarly after watching Wild Wild Country. There was so much footage included from that time and place - and I was pretty young and not into news at the time - but it was such a huge cult/ event it’s hard to believe it wasn’t subsequently discussed from time to time when the topic of cults came up. There were prominent stories I remember or that i learned of from back then, that seem just as important or a big deal as these - some even less significant - but I knew nothing about these until the Netflix documentaries. I find that weird, like they just materialized.

Does anyone remember a huge scandal involving the Mormons in the 80’s (not about blessing names of dead people/ converting souls)? It was reported on all the news networks with tons of filmed evidence of piecing together the case - but somehow the story missed our house where the tv was on constantly, often on US channels in those days - that is now common knowledge to you? It feels like it just popped up out of nowhere.

I'm still thinking about it. Twilight Zone moment. Not hearing about this is like not knowing about the uni-bomber/ Oklahoma City.

I watched two movies on Netflix that I'd not heard of before last week.
The first one was Captain Fantastic about a family that lives off the grid in the wild and how they survived but then have to step back into the material world when the mother commiits suicide and they have to attend the funeral.
The father in the movie was nominated for an academy award.
It certainly brings up some interesting questions about this lifestyle....the pros and cons.

The second movie was How To Be A Latin Lover. Again I'd never heard of this movie that stars Salma Hayeck but I was in the mood for comedy and this jumped into my radar. It is totally silly but I found myself laughing out loud.....so maybe if you just want to laugh it might be the ticket.....not for everyone I'm sure.

We just finished Line of Duty. british cop show. We seem to be on a British tv thing. It it’s good. Follows three main characters who are investigating police corruption. Lots of twists. Each season has a main story arc but they overlap each other
hardest part is the accents. We are constantly asking each other what someone said. Particularly a Northern Ireland character

I know I'm late to this particular party, but I LOVED "The Queen's Gambit". I almost stopped watching it after about episode 4, because I couldn't handle her downward spiral. But my sister assured me that the ending was worth it, and it was.
I have also been watching Knowledge tv out of British Columbia. There are a few detective shows on there that I enjoy. Besides that, Shaw on-demand has allowed me to catch up on a few favourites. This recuperating business has made me watch a lot of tv and read a lot of books!

Such a good show!
My step brother and sil remind me of them in several ways. They're on the grid, but there are similarities.
I loved The Queens Gambit too....I think its rated as one of Netflix top shows.

It was great, but I wouldn't trust the Netflix ratings as markings of a good show - Tiger King was up there too, which I did find entertaining but I wouldn't say good.

Agreed. Pop culture's top picks often leave me completely scratching my head.
