This is a scene from the brilliant movie What Dreams May Come which was written by Richard Matheson who didn't believe himself but was comissioned to write the book. And he wrote it based on extensive research (I think like half of thr book is bibliography?)
. So he distilled all these human tales of the afterlife and wrote a story set in it

Robin Williams is dead and frustrated that he can't console his wife who is also dealing with the death of their son so eventually he goes to Heaven
His wife is a painter, so that explains where he first ends up.

Also a really cool depection of Hell -- it can be left and it is something that people do to themselves

Yeah I think my spirit and my soul are the same thing.

So what your saying here is that you do not believe we are a tribune being -------like God -----

I believe ---------We are a spirit being --we possess a Soul which is our mind will and emotions and these 2 are housed in a physical body ------the spirit and soul leave the Body at death ----as we are able to stay Spiritually connected to God -through death by our Spirit ----and with the Soul we are able to think and speak --and feel and recognize others who have gone on before us wherever we are residing -----

The Spirit resided in our center ---we commune with God through our renewed Spirit -when we get Born Again -----our soul has to be renewed to be catch up with our New Spirit ---Scripture says do not be conformed to this worlds way of thinking ----Renew your Mind ----so your Spirit is renewed already ---your Soul is not --it is separate from the Spirit and has to be Renewed by a mind change ----

12 So be careful! God's message to us is alive and powerful. It is like a sword that has two sharp edges. Even more than a sword, God's message goes very deep into us.
It cuts between our soul and our spirit. It is like a sharp knife that can cut deep into our body between our bones. God's message shows what we are really thinking. It shows what we really want.

23 I pray that God will help you to be completely good, as his people should be. He is the one who gives us peace in our minds. I pray that he will take care of you in every way, in your spirit, in your soul and in your body.
Then you will not be guilty of anything that is bad, when our Lord Jesus Christ returns.

Here again we see the 2 are separate ----spirit and soul ----and the 2 are housed in a physical body ---and we see we are a tri part being ------

Following up my last post: Paul describes Paradise thus:

"What eye has not seen"

Some NDErs report that in Paradise the colors are as bright as the sun, but don't hurt the spirit eyes, and more intriguingly, include many more colors not known on earth.

"What ear has not heard, neither as it entered human imagination the things God has prepared for those who love Him."

It is helpful to think of the heavens in terms of higher vibrations. Thus, some NDErs report that each item (e. g. a waterfall, a rose) in Paradise is alive and emits a vibration that can be heard as exquisite 0music or a harmonic. One can listen to individual harmonics or to how the harmonics or music of each individual thing blends or merges into the music emitted by Paradise as a whole--a phenomenon that defies human imagination.

Really interesting post @unsafe. The verse from Hebrews seems to be quite well known but I have never encountered it before.

it offers a different concept of the soul than the one I learned. I was taught that the soul was an indefinable essence that will return to God eventually. Almost more like what is being called spirit here.

I have always used the terms soul and spirit interchangeably. But your explanation is consistent with some commentary I found.

Feelings and thoughts persisting after bodily death is a new idea for me.

May explain the wiggling and weaving ... that in the stuff around us as constantly attempting to avoid the human factor ... Dancing Wu Li Masters addresses this ghostly theme! Thus thinly veiled apparitions ... sometime declared as incarnations as "things appearing as not"! Abstracts???? These are as yet incomplete ... like deficient dialectic devices ... repose: "you don't say!" Thus the dark, almost silent scratch creation ... ink on the wall? Cosmological Constant? It too is out there ...

Didn't someone state that everything was possible in heaven as a state of mind ... thus Gods at War! This causes the displacement of old stuff ... and wisdom departs in essence! See ... it is gone ... I haven't observed much decent sense in great powers for a considerable time as administrative desires over ride ... thus those nebulous appearances! Tumultuous affairs in the sky? Powers attempt to conquers space ,,, lacking vision about the extent thereof ... they believe what is out there is mortal! It radiates noxious beams ... cosmic energy is extensive ...

One must reach beyond that epiphany that is a sign that there is mores ... beyond the pillars and columns of ethics ... stirring ... the pills we swallow in time create pillage! Parasitic as what is put in has side effects beyond the short terms and narrow visions provided by ne book ... then John countermands himself when speak of all the light of stories hiding out therein the abstract ... all the light we cannot observe?

Scripture contains mythological elements for sure. I am inclined to think that Jerusalem descending from the heavens is such myth.

Nah, me neither the literal parts descends into a device of iron or corn ... so the other godlike essences giggle in their sacred positions ... humbled by what's put forth and came up? Word carries this stuff well giving indication and signs of nothing of the sort that mortals understand ... intelligence is out of here!

I find mules in all stories as the thing must be carried somehow ... in the far east it was camels ... and they humped large loads ... with considerable complaints as they would spit on everything ... humps? These resemble warps in the straight line theology of Cosmological Constant ... that light topic ...

Sagan declared it contained a code ... somewhat weave-ai! Substance is required to convert it into heat ... basic thermodynamics for those instituted in an establishment that cannot move! It has no concept of floe ... a river we must cross when we come tuit; full circle?

This is so with innate and Nate presentations of sentient ... wise? The experience of lacking the knowhow there with all ... just another painful learning cycle ... these are broken and shattered to avoid chain reactions of unmanageable proportion like Stella Nova ... observed in powerful establishments ... like a blinding city on Earth? Revelation is an organized Book -----

Jesus gives us the main events of His plan ------

First -----He tells John to write what He Sees in Revelation 1

verse 11
“Write on a scroll what you see

verses 12-16 describes the coming of Christ ----in His Glory----


Second----- he tells John to write the things which ARE

Chapter 2--and 3 --Are ---the 7 letters to the 7 churches in Asia Minor ----these are in my view for all churches not just those churches ----and that includes today -----as if you read all 7 of the letters ---you will see yourself and your church in one or more of them -----as it describes the False Prophets in the churches and it describes the Carnal conduct in the Churches and it describes difference between True Christ--ians and False Christians -----all relevant today in the main stream churches ------



Third -----He tells John to write the things which --Shall Be

Chapters 4 to 18 -----Describes what happens in the 7 Year Tribulation -----

Chapters 19 -21 describe what happens after the 7 year tribulation -----the 2nd coming and so on

this is interesting to note because in the first 3 Chapters the word Church --meaning the People --not the building ----is used about 13 times and after Chapter 3 --there is no mention of the Church until the 2nd coming happens when Jesus comes back with His saints ------

So this says that the Church ---true Christians ---are not present during the Tribulation period -----so anyone who believes in a Post Trib Rapture will have a hard time trying to Explain how Jesus returns with His Saints at His 2nd Coming if the they are still here on this earth -----

In my view Revelation is a Book that should be taught by only people who have researched it deeply and are committed to finding the true meanings behind the imagery so as they Preach the real Truth of what God intended message is in this Book -----it is a book that says you will be Blessed by understanding it and ----Believe It Or Not -it is a Book of God's Love --Grace and Mercy for His Creation to come back to Him and reside with Him in His New Earth -----free from tears ---sickness --sadness --fear ---wars ---stress ---the 2nd death ----etc --etc -etc -----where only peace --joy --happiness ---health ---and agape ---are in place -----

We choose ----where we want to be --

See there are people on Earth that know all thigns Godly and ungodly given the possession of dragons and other such animas in the document ...

I see the potential for peddling Phoebe-yah ... resembles God fearing emotions and thus the hated for affiliating with folk that need help ... learning about hard stuff; clams, mollosks, entire hardshell group ... Molly?

Can one sink something that is already bottom line in the tale? let us examine other folk lore as it draws us ... adventures unending if you fear the entire thhing!

Remember fear is the beginning of wisdom about God and the tendancy to stay below the horizon ... then sometimes the Horizon is Lost ... a glimpse of what's beyond, in a word? God that's it ... out there and underfoot given how the world turns ... not for the flat outers ...

Could that be warped in a myth? Thus it comes around ...

Eternal questions???? The answers are thus extremely lengthy ... and like wings of politicians ... never ending ... thus see's PAN! That'll seize em ... like watching a show based on kindergarden philosophy --- Fulghum? (there was another one about the bed being on fire ... something about forging onward).
