Bones take a minimum of 6 weeks until they start knitting together and a good year until they are as strong as before the break. Make sure you get a good amount of calcium and vitamin D in your diet or take a supplement. I hope you got enough instructions about not bending and follow them. Displaced fractures means the edges of the fracture do not line up anymore, Now your body has more work to bridge a greater, uneven gap.

Thus the veil of bones ... mental structuring ...

In private systems, people still end up with the standard cast, unless you have money to burn.

Don't want to spin your thread off kimmio. But don't want to glorify private systems where the upper middle class buys the best and it is considered just fine

If someone has worked hard and become upper middle class they should have the freedom to buy the best treatment for themselves and/or for others imho.

Hope the new brace is working well
Thanks. It's better than the other one, but I had some trouble remembering how to line it up properly when taking it off to change my clothes, and putting it back on. The instructions I was given, even at at the private place where I bought it, were very rushed and I forgot an important detail or two apparently...so it wasn't keeping my knee immobilized, still. The home physio was in contact with me, and she came over today briefly, and adjusted it and gave clear instructions, and reasons for those instructions with regard to healing, which make them easier to remember. It's stable again. She also gave me a theraband and showed me how I can wrap it around the brace over and under my knee for extra support if I still feel my knee is not stable enough. She also thought the tensor sleeve with Velcro at the back, that I already had, was good to wear under the brace. It just acts as a reminder if my knee does bend (it's hard because with CP both my knees want to reflexively bend at the same time). And a cast stocking to put over my whole leg (and brace) to give it some extra tension and keep it all contained, if I want. I might wear that at night. She is very helpful. I can't complain about that.

found out aboot this yesterday on cbc radio 1
(they've resurrected Stewart MacLean's Arthur Awards)

there was this bunny named Blueberry at an animal shelter. she had no use of her back legs so she would lie on her side; she couldn't sit or hop. the animal shelter looked into getting a wheelchair but it was too expensive for just 1 animal. so a volunteer (who didn't want the animal to get gacked) researched these types of wheelchairs and larned how to build one.
initially Blueberry was afraid but she took to it and went to her forever home
here She is taking it out for a ride. Vroooom!

There is a food fair that i hang out at sometimes
One where church groups have bibble studies n meet at
I've gotten 2 know some of the regulars there
Todayz visit I saw some that I hadnt seen since Christmas
And for the first time
I found out some were "disabled"
All these months and I never saw it. Just peeps sharin some moments with
lol I love the World
Love beats all

Is LOL'n about in passion ... sort of like a quantum field ... dark, unheard and intangible to those in the running for the industrial rush?

Some are disabled from activity due to the needy sense that there is something to learn ... if one steps back into the limelight's of the psychic stage ... thus one sometimes incarnates as fossils ... fuel for another pyre ... as the carbon cycle of stars go ... you could end as silly-Ka, or pure Ire-'n-heh ... a state of madness or Hebrew ecce-eta IHCs ... unseen booty?

Thus that delicate fabrication ... the mind being a frail thing given all the crap thrown at it ... chit-eaters takes on a whole different undertaking ... understand! Phonecian's ζæ ... phonetic transparency ... a wipe-out?

Some say a Zed buddy ... who will reappear in part ... the focus on the other side of the dark MIR ... in substantial material unknown to mortals ... resembling ethereal incarnate ... phantom-like opera ... the O felon as alien fellow?

This looks like it has definite possibilities to make life more enjoyable under difficult circumstances.

Self-taught Calgary man builds innovative leg brace in his garage

It's interesting how human medicine and veterinary medicine sometimes don't interact. 5 years ago, when my Lucy broke her leg quite badly, we went through a cast, then a splint and realized that, short of knocking the damn dog out for 6 weeks, neither were going to work to immobilize the joints around the bone well enough to keep the bone stable to heal. A veterinary orthopaedic surgeon came up with an external skeleton/splint that screwed into the top and bottom of the tibia, kept the bone immobilized, and then the screws were removed with a minimal surgery (topical anaesthetic) when the bone was healed. Except for the "screwing in" part, this is a similar idea.

Thinking and dealing with concepts outside the box ... alien cognizance? Due revelation ...

And that's part of the problem. Making these sorts of inventions widely available, without the profit margins sought when they're in the hands of big business. I love the idea of open source inventions.

one of my ideals for a world is one where everyone can do that and not have to waste time struggling just 2 survive
the world has become wealthy enough that more and more of us r able to try that out
DIY satellite xperiments
DIY communication
I fondly remember Radio Shack
People inventing things that let people DIY their world, like home DNA manipulation kits or the Raspberry PI processor and Arduino

in fact thats kinda how our world really operates; someone invents something and then someone else figures out a new use for it or another invention based on it...

Had my X-rays/ follow up. I can take the brace off. Yay! I still have to be careful, and after using it for awhile, if my knee feels sore, I can wear the brace as needed. But the doctor said it looks much better than last time. Healing is well underway. He showed me the X-ray and zoomed in so I could see how much the bone pieces were beginning to weave together. He told me whatever I was doing since last time was right because the bone pieces are aligned again, too. It can take 9 months for complete healing. So, no jumping around for me just yet.
