Update. Moved all my stuff out of my little place today, with 2 friends' help. They were amazing. My one friend was a good "manager". I asked her to give me her eyes and help direct me on what to prioritize because I was feeling exhausted and overwhelmed. Once I pulled things out of cupboards, and couldn't safely get around it all, I nearly had a breakdown. I had made progress but was only able to do what was within reach without bending or reaching up high. I had taken the splint off for awhile the day before, and my knee was paying for it (although it is getting much better). My friend set up chairs in such a way, near where I still had things to sort, and where I could reach things, and said "okay, this one garbage, this one recycling, this one keep"...and kept me focused, without judging (my mom for example, would be berating me, and that itself I find 'paralizing'). My other friend loaded her van up. It was a furnished place - kitchen stuff was also mostly the owners' - so all I had to move was a nightstand/ drawer, clothes, a few books, bathroom stuff, linens, and odds n ends - not that much as far as moving goes, but once I had pulled everything out it just seemed overwhelming in that tiny home. And I had accumulated more clutter than I had planned to! I always seem to, somehow. It was embarrassing for me because ideally I wouldn't have broken my leg and would be able to do a better job before anyone showed up. I kept apologizing anxiously and they were telling me "Stop it! This is easy for us, piece of cake!...it's normal home mess, your knee is broken and you have a disability, you did well here - be kinder to yourself!" They were awesome! It took about 2 hours to get everything finished, cleaned up, and moved to my parents', with their help.
We got to my parents (whose garage, by the way, is full of their clutter) and my parents were grumbling about my three garbage bags of clothes and linens (much easier to move short distances this way, I have learned) and about 4 small boxes, a suitcase, a few food staples, and a small nightstand, being too much stuff crowding their already crazy-cluttered garage. That is why I need to find somewhere else ASAP, because they never stop complaining about minutiae...I am their scapegoat for their own mess because I added to it...but the bathroom here is all fitted with equipment while my knee is still healing. It won't be much longer. I hope in 2 weeks I can find somewhere else, though. 6 weeks max.
Can't sleep though. I slept yesterday after I was done. I'm out of whack from the past 48 hrs.
