Ok I had 2 wisdom teeth removed. One at a time. I went back to work after the first one-at the Health Unit. The nurses sent me home. I threw up. A stitch came out. was back at the dentist and all was well the stitch wasn't needed-the throw up turned out to be the flu. Next tooth-a friend was in town, so after having the tooth out I spent the rest of the day on horseback-a glorius ride with a wad of cotton in my mouth. No use going to work as they'd send me home but I felt fine and just drank (milkshakes/smoothies) my next 2 meals.

I really hope it's that easy, but I'm not confident. I had a specialist years ago say not to get them out unless it was really necessary - and then not by a dentist, but a surgeon. My current ENT was for delaying it as long as possible too. Genetics doesn't appear to be on my side with this either. At least there is no distance if there are issues - I will be in the hospital and I'm hoping everything will be done as requested now.

Enjoying my LAST snack of potato chips for a while.

Then be dema coques (allowing that the Greek gamma substitutes for "c" "k" and "q" as the Greek C's are dark ... azure like a Maya down ... or de lower waters according to Hebrew myth. Anything higher is shamayim ... or water on the brain for kohl emotions ... wild emotions are often referred to demagogues ... demonish gods? They are people secretly striving for non-Pragmatic urges ... often obtuse or unseen ... heiros gamma?

There are those that say they've seen nothing like it ... that's mankind for yah ... they'll do anything that appears unsociably rational! Thus they are set off by themselves in the greater field ... the span of god's imagination? Obstinate people can't see how large this is ... as all wrapped up in themselves they get in their's elves whey as wee demons! As always someone will be milk 'nit for all ID scud ...

They even make laws about split hoofs and chewing ... taking all the phun out of de rag as tyrannically published! There are declared to be no satyr there ... but if you didn't know ... would you be aware of apocalypse? The coming Wahl of Y's dim that hits yah when dead to the emotions! Then Eeyore out of here ... eliminated or extrapolated ? Mule train physics in the long haul ...

Hope all goest well for you ChemGal. When I had my 4 wisdom teeth out it took over 1.5 hours - top 2 popped out quickly, 1 of the bottom ones was wrapped around the nerve so took longer, I only had a local freezing, dentist had me in a headlock to keep me still (not that I was moving) and had to chip away at the tooth, breaking off almost microscopic sized pieces. When it was done, I got out of the chair on my own and walked out of the building on my own which amazed them...only trouble was not being able to eat for the hours before hand so I ended up collapsing from low blood sugar. We're a tough bunch in my family - when my dad was in his early 20s he had to have all his teeth pulled and dentures...he had his teeth pulled in the morning and was back to work at the lumber mill for the afternoon.

Mine came out at 20 so exactly 30 years ago. It was to alleviate crowding in my jaw, esp. the lower. No major problems, just had to live on a liquid/soft diet for a few days. I had a friend who had an infection post-removal but even that cleared up fairly quickly IIRC.

Thanks everyone! I have all the medications I need to bring with me now. One wasn't ready when they said it would be, so had to wait, but otherwise no issues.
Today I'll be packing, waiting for a phone call, eating as being directed, and being slightly miserable without my claritin. I can also keep myself distracted checking out plants and stuff. We should be getting a delivery of mulch today.

I was on a liquid diet for 2 weeks after my wisdom teeth came out...I cheated and blended mashed potatoes and gravy together as Thanksgiving was within the 2 weeks.

All the best Chemgal.

I most certainly did not start this crude and debased line of conversation. That was the notorious pr.Jae
Redbaron, how can I invite you to the big dinner if I don't know what church you are at?
Meanwhile, I have to prepare my big dinner of two caramel nut bars, and some Hoofprints yogurt ice cream.

Oh, and BethAnne, we really don't need to hear about the interior of mouth and visions of mashed potatoes and gravy in your bleeding jaws. A little decorum....

I haven't been told liquid diet at least. The hospital will make sure I'm not eating anything right after. Beyond that it was nothing hard or things that can get stuck, like raspberry seeds from a smoothie.
I've picked up some instant mashed potatoes already :) I couldn't find potato soup at the store, so I got split pea and butternut squash.

Since my teeth left one at a time after first day it was regular diet (except the time with the flu-then ginger ale for a day)

Graeme wants decorum...from me? Surely he jests. Sigh, I shall try my best...here goes: got a fantastic hug from the Hugger today and the Kisser emailed to say an early Happy Birthday and I just watched "Fellowship of the Rings" for the first time, will try to watch the DVDs in the trilogy before the end of the week.
