I haven't gone to my DCM (Doctor of Chinese Medicine) in some years, but 12 would be a very low number of needles. I would say more like dozens, front and back; extras if she was working on a specific tendon/muscle group.

Sorry about your hair, BA. One does look forward to losing the weight when you take off a bunch. I've thought about cutting off my braid in memory of my guy, but then I'd have to acquire a hairdresser, and the thought is unappealing. I used to just go to the College hairdressing program to take a foot off occasionally, but of course, the program is closed/postponed at present, so no hair cut at the College.

Original acupuncturist only put 4 needles in me - 6 if I was really tight - as he said no more than 4 are necessary if those 4 are in the right spot.

I've been growing my hair out to see how long it will grow - it's just an inch or so below my waist...I'd keep going but it keeps breaking off and now that I'm healthier and my hair is starting to reflect that (at the scalp and down a bit), I thought I'd start over, without totally starting over.

I'm feeling the effects of my needles yesterday. I'm hoping that's a good thing in the end.

Can you long haired womyn cut off some of your ponytails yourselves? Sounds like your hair is long enough to be able to do it well.

It's easier for me to get someone else to do it

My hair is insanely thick, and incredibly curly. It's quite difficult to get it even by yourself. I could just whack off the braid, or part of it, as my friend in Vancouver did recently, lol, but then getting it the same length all around is quite difficult.

Getting it even is my issue too - i will do my bangs in between actual visits to the hairdresser (which are every 2 or 3 years) and more often than not I end up with them lopsided

Which is why I no longer have bangs. I've made some hilarious messes of those, as did my mother. Somewhere there's a "church directory" picture of me and my two sisters. In three identical plaid jumpers, with different coloured turtlenecks underneath, and it is very clear from my hair that Mom had been "hairdressing" and had to stop while I still had some bangs left, but they were just about up to the hairline on one side.

I could be the end result would be very uneven. While slightly annoyed about the amount taken off, I will say Chemguy did a great job otherwise.

Worst was when I let my sis trim my bangs before a Highland Dance competition - she couldn't get them even so they ended up too short to pull back (rules were NO bangs on forehead allowed if you had long hair and hair had to French braided in two braids) and our dance teacher was LIVID and almost banished me from the competition (as I was over 18 at the time I told her she couldn't and I would be competing)...personally, we couldn't see the point of the rule as girls with short hair could keep their bangs on their foreheads

I hate illogical rules. Why can we no longer give "cash back" at my store? We've been accepting cash the whole time.

LAST, as I ponder lack of logic.

Somewhere in the US, a municipal council felt it necessary to declare it illegal to whistle underwater.
I'd love to know what actually happened to make such an ordinance needful....

How is it possible to whistle underwater????
