So I saw my oncologist today. It was a bit of an adventure since the room I usually go to for the video conference was closed for construction. I had to get checked in by slow people, then escorted to the part of the hospital where I would meet the doctor. At any rate, she isn't usually punctual, so my being late to the room wasn't an issue. The appointment went well and everything is fine. There is some lung stuff going on which she thinks is more of an inflammatory thing. It will continue to be monitored. She may refer me to a respirologist. I'll also be able to get the covid vaccine. They've decided the possible risk from the vaccine is less than the illness and are treating the vaccine the way they would the flu shot. I may need to take a short break from my med that is suppressing my immune system. All good news.
Any specification about what vaccine(s) are better than others? Or just go with whatever you can get?

No she didn't say. She said since they were not live vaccines they would be okay. She's someone who is very clear when she needs to be. If there was one that wouldn't be good or would be better she would say

Live vaccines are likely to be approved soon though. Just curious what's being said for those who have other health stuff going on and what the advice is, as it does seem to vary doctor to doctor, place to place, etc.

Live vaccines are not recommended for people in my situation. I could get the flu shot and the pneumonia shot, just not a live version. I am vulnerable to getting sick from it.

I'm glad you made it home safely BA.

We've had a lazy day here so far. I'm going to do more work on the quilt. There may be some swearing ahead in this section.
