Papers were dropped off almost an hour early and we were quicker as didn't have to do golf courses, plus two businesses in Alix have closed and one refused to have the papers any more because they think I wrote the letter in the LAST paper...home just after 2:00.

Police officers shot (and killed) a robbery suspect outside of Alix this morning - we saw all the emergency vehicles this morning when we left but couldn't see where they went...wonder if we know the person?

And I just found out the 7th Day Adventist church in our community was broken into sometime between Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning.

Last as I go away for a while for a break. Got school to catch up on. Be back on or after November 10.

Oy...sirens screaming at 9:00 here in town...I headed down Main St to see about where it was - Main St is blocked off and there are 8 emergency vehicles all lined up on a side street along the length of one block...couldn't see any sign of smoke or fire or any activity from the emergency personnel...no RCMP on site yet either.

Car shot in quickly when I let her in at 10. I was suspicious as she bolted downstairs. Then she came up-yes that was a rodent in her mouth. She sat under the dining room table. I woke my son who was not helpful. I wen to the neighbours. He is a hunter. He came over and put the RAT in a container and into the garbage.
Just glad it was dead as she has brought live critters in before.
I'm drinking wine and being last......

Someone mailed a copy of an article published in 1998 reflecting on "traditional women's roles" - it was sent completely anonymously to the paper...I'd suspect Graeme of sending it except it was mailed locally as arrived less than a day after it was date-stamped.

And my world - re: letters to the editor responses - is still quite quiet...I may (fingers crossed) have figured out how to out-wit the bullies! :)
