I've been teaching myself tonight to paint with water colours. It's a lot tougher than I thought it would be. I've done only oil before.

I have a few rocks I want to paint...haven't gotten to them yet...cool idea to leave them around.I just bought myself a beginner's acrylic kit, with the idea to start painting rocks, and leaving them for people to find.
I've done one, which I haven't sealed yet, and don't really know how to photograph, as it's a funny elongated cube, on every side of which I've done some 'rock-y doodling'; the inspirational quote is "see the good".
Niece used oil pastels in Gr. 1 this year and I'd also like to try them...along with the umpteen other items on my wish listI'd like to try watercolours again. I learned on high school. That was a little while ago.I did learn to use acrylics in the last couple of years. They are fun because you can make them look like watercolours or oils or whatever.
We're home after a short visit to the town where we used to live. It was nice to visit friends and camp. I got some work done on a throw I'm knitting for a coworker who has been off work for a bit. She was in a motor vehicle accident in July and had apparently been struggling with a concussion and likely whiplash. We're putting together a comfort basket for het so I figured she needed a hand knit soft throw. She appreciates hand crafts so I'm enjoying making it
Nope...they're on the list tooI always like oil pastels. Have you tried the water colour pencils. They are quite slick.
