A cat sleeping on the furnace register is not conducive to warming the room (they make great insulation). That was a lesson I learned in my 20ish years as a cat family member.

Part of the problem is that cues that people who don't like cats tend to adopt (like not looking at the cat), tend to attract cats. I've been following a dog training guy and he talks quite a bit about not sending "unintentional" signals.

Have never really thought any of my cats cared whether I looked at them or not. It's hard to tell with cats.

If you look at them when they don't want you to, they get that "what, hey, nothing to see here" look. If you don't look at them when they want you to, you get BA's problem. There's no winning with cats but I love the little devils anyway.

Old family story about cats: A neighbour came to the house to look after me when my brother was being born & mom and dad were at the hospital. This woman was terrified of cats. Our cat of the day climbed up the curtains in the living room and scared the wits out of her. The cat had never done this before and never did it again.

The cat stalking the tea cozy story is another good one. Same cat that hid on the top of the kitchen cupboards. The tea cozy was shaped like a cat but it only ever fooled her once.

I remember the kitten my family got after the old cat died (I had moved out by this point so wasn't really attached to the new kitty). Climbed the curtains just as you describe. Climbed the Christmas tree. That cat just didn't like being on the ground, I don't think. The old cat that I grew up with only climbed if absolutely necessary (e.g. to escape a marauding dog or something when she was outside). Like her predecessor, new kitty lived a good 20-ish years, mostly with my brother's family since Dad didn't want her after Mom died.

Dogs certainly do drool. Lucy really doesn't love the car, and so she pants anxiously most of any ride. Most of this panting is done right over top of my right shoulder... LAST.

This sweater is turning into an optical illusion...I did only have 6 inches left to knit but I've done 8 inches now and still not the right length.

Could be a quantum thing. You might want to call in a consulting theoretical physicist before you knit a black hole or something.

LAST step done before I start sewing...I'm not a fan of blocking either (most of the time).

Causes some cognizant dissonance and enigma ... some believe there is no question at all about what god does ... they know that too ...

Life must be very boring to them with no curiosity about Gods logic ...

Had a meal outside this summer at the cottage. Neighbours' dog sat politely watching us eat (drooling) but was unobtrusive. She got up and went home as soon as we were finished.
